Project perspective

The project is planned and built based on the idea of turning Cat Ba into a "little Maldives of Asia". The highlight of the project is the central square, the international standard artificial public beach, the walking streets and the vibrant service chain on both sides.

The project dedicates more than 60% of the area to developing public utilities. With the goal of turning Cat Ba into the first carbon-free tourist island in our country, in the near future all residents on the island as well as tourists will completely use environmentally friendly means of transport such as cable cars, electric cars, bicycles, etc. The public electric car system will be planned synchronously throughout the island, with stops/parking/charging stations... ensuring convenience for residents and tourists.

This is considered one of Vietnam's pioneering tourism projects aiming for zero carbon emissions and dedicating large areas to the community.

In addition, the project area also includes a large-scale inland waterway wharf, allowing visitors to easily access by sea from Hai Phong City or Cat Hai cable car station.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, said that Hai Phong aims to develop Cat Ba tourism in a direction that ensures harmony with the natural landscape, exploits the natural landscape, water surface, and mountains on the principle of minimizing interference with the natural terrain, aiming to build Cat Ba into a smart, ecological tourist island.

The Cat Ba archipelago, with a system of about 358 large and small limestone islands, has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage. This is a place with a diverse marine ecosystem and unique terrain, and is one of the tourist attractions of Hai Phong City.

Delegates press the button to start the Cat Ba Central Bay Tourism and Commercial Service Area Project.

"To promote investment attraction in developing infrastructure and facilities for tourism, focusing on high-class resorts, entertainment, hotels, and restaurants that meet national and international standards, many resort real estate projects in Cat Ba are being implemented to change the face of tourism on the island district.

One of the projects being implemented is the Cat Ba Central Bay Tourism and Commercial Service Project in Cat Hai District. The project is expected to diversify tourism products, supplementary services, entertainment services, trade centers, shopping areas, conferences, etc. to attract tourists to Cat Ba archipelago," Mr. Le Khac Nam informed.

The Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee requested that investors and implementing units be responsible for maintaining environmental hygiene in the surrounding area, not negatively affecting the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay - Cat Ba archipelago.

Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group, said that this is a comprehensive green project. Located in a space that is considered the pearl island of the North, ecological and environmentally friendly factors are consistently identified in all design ideas of the project. Throughout the project is a green landscape axis, public water surface surrounding and interwoven in all items, creating a green destination in the landscape, green in living facilities as well as green in infrastructure.

The project will pay special attention to wastewater and waste treatment. A system will be invested in to filter seawater into fresh water and a system to collect and treat rainwater to meet the fresh water needs of the island. Wastewater, including washing water and bathing water, will be filtered through many stages and chemically treated, to be reused as toilet flush water. Waste is classified and treated into fertilizer, used to plant trees to create landscapes. Along with that, this will also be a destination that says no to single-use plastics.
