Dong Viet Bridge project connecting Bac Giang and Hai Duong is still under construction.

The Dong Viet Bridge project worth nearly 1,500 billion VND connecting the two provinces of Bac Giang and Hai Duong is taking shape. This is a project won by the joint venture of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company.

According to reporters at the Dong Viet Bridge project (Bac Giang province), construction work has been ongoing over the past few days. Workers are still working at the construction site.

According to Mr. Ngo Thanh Duy, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Traffic and Agricultural Works in Bac Giang Province, Thuan An Group and the consortium are still implementing the project, because "according to the contract, they still have to do it".

Mr. Hoang Van Thanh, Chairman of Yen Dung District People's Committee (Bac Giang Province) informed that the Dong Viet bridge project is located in the area, so the locality only participates in site clearance, and the progress is up to the investor, the locality does not know.

Dong Viet Bridge is expected to be completed at the end of August and put into operation at the end of September 2024. This is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang province, crossing the Thuong River to connect with Hai Duong province.

Site clearance was completed 2 years ago.

According to approval, the project has a total length of 8.59 km. The approach road to the bridge on both sides is about 7.86 km long, Dong Viet bridge is about 731.2 m long.

The project will be implemented over 3 years (2022-2025), from the provincial budget and local government bonds.

Recently, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency (C03) has initiated a case of violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences; giving and receiving bribes occurring at Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company and related units and organizations.

The investigation agency prosecuted, arrested and temporarily detained Nguyen Duy Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, for violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences and bribery; at the same time prosecuted and temporarily detained Tran Anh Quang, General Director, for bribery.

The investigation agency also prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Khac Man, Deputy General Director of Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company; Nguyen Van Thao, Director and Dam Van Cuong, Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Traffic and Agricultural Works of Bac Giang Province; and Hoang The Du, Head of the Project Management Board of Bac Giang Province.
