On March 18 in Hanoi, the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) held a press conference, announcing that this week there will be two US business delegations coming to our country as part of a business delegation to Vietnam in 2025.

Many big names in the world

The first delegation, consisting of 58 leading US businesses, visited from March 18 to 20. This delegation was followed by another delegation from the healthcare and life sciences industry, visiting Vietnam on March 20 and 21.

With a total of 64 businesses, this is the largest delegation ever to Vietnam within the framework of the program organized by USABC.

USABC Chairman and former US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius led the delegation, along with former US Ambassador to Malaysia Brian McFeeters and Boeing Vietnam Country Director Michael Nguyen.

It has become a tradition that every year there are a number of American business delegations coming to Vietnam to learn about the market and cooperation opportunities.

However, the size of this year's delegation is the largest, demonstrating the interest of US businesses in Vietnam, and is even more meaningful as 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-US relations.

At the same time, this is also an opportunity for the world's leading American businesses in the fields of information technology, financial services, manufacturing, energy, aerospace, consumer goods... to learn about the investment environment and business opportunities with Vietnamese partners.

Some names include Boeing, Apple, Intel, Coca-Cola, Nike, Amazon and Bell Textron, Excelerate Energy...

During the three days in Vietnam, the US business delegation is expected to meet with Party and State leaders and participate in other activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Vietnam-US bilateral relations.

American businesses have confidence in Vietnam

“As Vietnam enters a new chapter with a fundamentally reformed and streamlined political system, the American business community looks forward to the positive impact of these changes and exploiting the opportunities ahead,” said USABC President Osius.

Referring to the record number of American businesses coming to Vietnam this time, Mr. Osius said that this reflects the strong belief of American businesses in the future of Vietnam as well as the opportunities here.

He affirmed that in the context of global trade instability, including tariff risks for Vietnam, the US business community remains "steadfast and committed to promoting stable, mutually beneficial trade relations".

"We recognize the challenges ahead, but also recognize the enormous potential for deeper cooperation between our two countries," the former US ambassador to Vietnam added.

Regarding Vietnam's goal of building an international financial center, Mr. Osius said the US highly appreciates this goal and wants to be a part of those efforts.

Speaking a little more about his personal plans, the USABC president shared that he will move to Ho Chi Minh City from July this year, describing it as a "dynamic city with a lot of opportunities".

Also at the press conference, a representative of Pacifico Energy Group shared the company's investment plans in Vietnam in the coming time.

Assessing that Vietnam has great potential in offshore wind power development, Pacifico wants to take the lead in cooperating with Vietnam to enhance energy security, laying the foundation for other investors to come here.

A representative of Meta Group (Facebook's parent company) shared about upcoming plans and affirmed its commitment to long-term investment in Vietnam.

With plans to expand into virtual space services, Meta estimates it will create 1,000 more jobs in the high-tech sector.

The group also revealed that it will join hands with a number of partners to create the largest database ever to serve artificial intelligence (AI) models, especially there will be AI tools in Vietnamese to serve the lives of Vietnamese people.
