On October 15, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province held a press conference on the results of socio-economic development tasks in the first 9 months of the year, key tasks and solutions for the fourth quarter of 2024.
At the conference, representatives of many departments, branches and localities answered and provided information on issues raised by reporters from press agencies.
Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport of Bac Giang province, said that currently, contractors are focusing on construction, and it is expected that the bridge surface will be paved by October 18 and will be basically completed by December 31 of this year.
Previously, Bac Giang province accelerated the progress, striving to open the technical traffic in early September, nearly 4 months ahead of schedule (December 24, 2024).
Dong Viet Bridge is the first and largest cable-stayed bridge in Bac Giang province, crossing the Thuong River, connecting with Chi Linh City, Hai Duong.
The project has a total investment of nearly 1,500 billion VND. Thuan An Group is one of two joint ventures participating in the project with a construction value of more than 800 billion VND.
Standing Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee Mai Son added that the provincial leaders are very interested and have directed relevant parties to encourage and support construction units to try to close Dong Viet Bridge to ensure progress and technical standards.
This week, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province will work with relevant parties to remove difficulties and promote the progress of the Dong Viet bridge project.
According to Mr. Mai Son, the bridge construction package has been basically completed. However, the site clearance work on the road leading to the bridge has not been completed because some households have built houses on agricultural land.
Dong Viet Bridge is over 730m long, with a 22.5m wide bridge deck. The main bridge consists of 2 cable-stayed spans, one flat deck, and the approach bridge consists of 14 Super T spans, built on a permanent bridge scale with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete structures.
The approach road to the bridge on both sides is about 7.86km long, with a level II delta road scale, 22m base, 21.5m road surface.
Construction of Cam Ly Bridge to start in the fourth quarter of 2024
Mr. Manh added that the Cam Ly bridge project is being actively directed by the Provincial People's Committee to be implemented by departments, branches, and the People's Committee of Luc Nam district; construction is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2024.
Regarding traffic order and safety management; management of bus routes and flows, progress in planning worker pick-up and drop-off points, and overcoming potential traffic accident risks, the representatives of the Department of Transport and the Provincial Police said that the two departments and branches have paid attention to coordinating and implementing the work, achieving many results with practical solutions to strengthen management; contributing to stabilizing the traffic situation and reducing accidents.
