This year, for the first time, the Taekwondo Club Tournament for all age groups in Khanh Hoa province has been expanded to include localities and clubs in the province. Thanks to that, the number of athletes participating in the competition has increased, and the professional quality of the tournament has also been significantly improved.
Previously, the participants of the provincial sports tournaments were athletes from 8 teams of districts, towns and cities; the number of athletes selected for local teams was not much (about 8 to 15 people). In this year's provincial age-group club taekwondo tournament, the Organizing Committee has expanded the number of registered participants to clubs, communes, wards and towns... Thereby, it has created conditions for many clubs to boldly try their hand, and athletes have good opportunities to compete, rub shoulders and improve their professional skills.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: "This is the first time the provincial taekwondo tournament has expanded to clubs, so the number of athletes participating in the tournament is large (268 athletes), more than double that of previous years. Not only that, in this year's tournament, localities and clubs have prepared very carefully in terms of force, so the professional quality is quite high".
According to the records, the atmosphere at this year's tournament was very exciting, many athletes from the clubs were excited to have the opportunity to participate in the provincial tournament for the first time. Mr. Doan Huu Thuong - Head coach of the Taekwondo Club of Ninh Quang commune (Ninh Hoa town) shared: "Previously, in the provincial tournaments, the club mainly focused on the town team to participate. This year, the tournament was expanded, the Taekwondo Club of Ninh Quang commune also boldly sent athletes to compete with the participation of 12 athletes. Participating in the tournament, the whole team had a very careful selection, actively practicing 6 days/week. As a result, the team's athletes won 4 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 3 bronze medals, taking 3rd place overall. This is a proud thing for the athletes and the club". Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Anh - Head, Coach of Anh Duong Taekwondo Club (Cam Ranh City) shared: “This is a big tournament, the first time the club sent athletes to participate so I am very nervous. The club has 9 athletes competing, focusing on the combat content of the weight classes. As a result, the team won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals”.
The organizing committee awarded prizes to the localities and clubs with outstanding achievements.
Assessing the professional quality of the tournament, Mr. Van Thanh Danh - Coach of the provincial taekwondo team said: "Compared to previous years, this year's tournament not only increased the number of athletes participating in the events, but also increased the professional quality of the tournament. Through this year's tournament, the coaching board of the provincial taekwondo team has selected a number of athletes with good qualities to add to the upcoming provincial team."
