Dong Trieu: Efforts to resolve voters' petitions

Dong Trieu City has been making efforts to resolve voters' petitions sent to the People's Council through meetings, demonstrating its commitment to ensuring the legitimate rights and aspirations of the people.

The power system in residential areas 10 and 11, Trang Bach, Mao Khe ward has had electricity restored since the beginning of December.

According to the report from the City People's Committee, in 2024, a total of 9 voters' petitions were raised, including petitions left over from previous sessions. The City People's Committee has developed a detailed plan, clearly assigning responsibilities to each agency, department and branch to speed up the processing progress. By November 2024, the city had resolved 4 petitions (44.4%) and informed and explained to voters about the remaining 5 petitions (55.6%).

The recommendations addressed include important issues such as: Maintaining the lighting system at Trang Bach intersection. The lighting line has been repaired and put into use, ensuring traffic safety for people.

Mr. Ngo Thanh Minh, Vice Chairman of Mao Khe Ward People's Committee, said: Due to the impact of storm Yagi, the lighting system invested by Dong Bac Corporation in residential areas No. 10, 11, Trang Bach area, with a length of 1.1km with 27 poles and 25 bulbs, was affected. This is an area with a very high traffic volume, many people working at night. Therefore, the power outage will affect traffic safety in the area. After the voters' petition, by early December, Unit 397 (Dong Bac Corporation) had repaired, upgraded, installed the entire new lighting system, and handed over the lights...

Secretary of the Trang Bach area Party cell, Mao Khe ward - Pham Van Cuong excitedly said: Since the lighting system has been installed, people can travel safely in this area, traffic safety is guaranteed.

Ms. Vu Thi Huyen's house, Dong Doc resettlement area, Trieu Khe area, Hong Phong ward and 3 households here have electricity and water to use.

After many petitions, the first 4 households in the resettlement area have been connected to electricity since August 2024; and connected to water since July 2024. There are still street lights, but they are not lit yet. I hope the government and relevant agencies will pay attention to providing electricity.

Beside   In addition, some voters' recommendations were resolved in 2024 such as:   Granting and exchanging land use right certificates for 9/9 households who donated land for road construction, meeting people's expectations. Handling landslide-prone areas in Duc Chinh ward, leveling the banks and lowering the slopes have been completed, ensuring safety during the rainy and stormy season.

Labour   Although the work of resolving voters' petitions in Dong Trieu City has achieved many positive results, there are still difficulties such as: Some petitions have not been completely resolved due to issues related to resources and policy mechanisms. Basic investment projects require a lot of time and money, and need careful preparation to avoid waste.

Voters at Dong Doc Resettlement Area, Trieu Khe Area, Hong Phong Ward hope that electricity will be turned on soon to ensure traffic safety for people.

To overcome this, the City People's Committee has committed to continue monitoring and urging relevant agencies to thoroughly resolve outstanding issues. In the coming time, the city will focus on tasks such as: Ensuring the progress of traffic projects, improving the quality of clean water and enhancing traffic safety at high-risk areas. Dong Trieu City authorities also pay special attention to publicizing information through the electronic information portal and media, helping voters monitor the progress of resolving petitions.
