Being a locality with rich and diverse natural resources including: Coal, clay, limestone... with reserves of tens of millions of tons, it has created momentum for strong development of mining, construction materials, and electricity production industries; attracting hundreds of investment projects, including many projects in the field of industrial production... Dong Trieu is also the production area of ceramics, construction materials, and fired clay with the largest output in the province, distributed in provinces and cities across the country and exported to many countries and territories; creating jobs for thousands of workers.

In Dong Trieu City, there are 22 construction material production units, mainly concentrated in Kim Son ward and some other communes and wards in the area such as Trang An, Hoang Que, Xuan Son, Mao Khe. Of which, there are 16 units producing bricks and tiles from fired clay; 4 units producing wall and floor tiles; 2 units producing unfired bricks. These units supply the market with hundreds of millions of bricks/year and 30 million ^m2 of products/year. Up to now, the Company has launched fired clay product lines worthy of national and international brands with more than 45 types of products, of which the main products include: Cotto floor tiles; Cotto wall tiles, Korean panels; French-style roofing tiles, and fish-nose packages...

Not only developing the local strengths, Dong Trieu is actively developing new industries in a concentrated, modern and sustainable direction. In Dong Trieu City, many centers and industrial clusters are currently being formed, operating in a modern direction, such as Mao Khe Mechanical Center, Kim Sen Industrial Cluster... The centers and industrial clusters are initially operating effectively, attracting many industrial enterprises to operate.

Bach Nang Footwear Company Limited is a 100% foreign-invested enterprise, operating in the production and import-export of footwear at Kim Sen Industrial Park since 2015. Currently, the company has invested in 15 sewing lines, 3 processing lines, and produces 500-550 pairs of shoes per day. The company's products are mainly exported to Europe. Mr. Chang Wei Tai, Deputy General Director of the Company, said: Our company has created jobs for nearly 1,700 workers, mainly local workers, with an average income of 8 million VND/person/month. In the coming time, the Company hopes to continue to receive the support and assistance of industries and localities to complete procedures to expand production, contributing to the development of Dong Trieu.

Currently, Kim Sen Industrial Park is operating with an occupancy rate of 73.7%; Trang An Industrial Park is being established. According to the city's general planning until 2030, with a vision to 2050, Dong Trieu has set out a direction to expand Kim Sen 2 Industrial Park for the construction materials industry and Yen Tho Industrial Park for the mechanical, logistics, and inland waterway industries.

Dong Trieu's efforts in developing modern and sustainable industry have been demonstrated through specific figures. In 2024, the city's economic growth rate will reach 14.2%; the economic structure will shift positively and in the right direction, with the proportion of industry reaching 62.3%. Of which, the manufacturing and processing industry is the industry with the largest proportion in the local industrial sector, accounting for 46%. The value of industrial production in the city calculated at 2010 comparable prices is estimated at VND 24,448 billion, equal to 100.1% of the growth scenario.
