Big prize, big responsibility
Studying dance since the age of 12, receiving in-depth training in the art of Ballet, along with 2 years of studying abroad in France, People's Artist Do Van Hien has continuously contributed and created dance works that are highly appreciated by experts and the public for their new, unique creativity, imbued with Vietnamese identity, and has won many major awards at competitions, festivals, and performances organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Among them are gold medal-winning works such as: "PaZi zither", "Firefly sea", "Legend of mother mountain", "Sac ngot dao Nung", "Vong ban", "Mother Phu sa", "Suc sinh Son La" ...
In particular, with his passion for ethnic culture, choreographer Do Van Hien did not hesitate to go to the highlands to live and observe the daily activities of ethnic people. From there, he found a way to combine elements of traditional culture with the quintessence of contemporary dance art, creating a series of impressive works.
Choreographer - People's Artist Do Van Hien
People's Artist Do Van Hien shared: "I am fascinated by the people and daily living habits of the community of 54 ethnic groups on the S-shaped strip of land. The dances, songs, and music here are always attractive and give me a feeling of closeness and intimacy. Therefore, I like to travel to many places, explore, experience the rustic life, especially to remote highland villages and ethnic minority areas to absorb, feel, get dance materials, learn about the typical cultural activities of the local people, from there find many good ideas to bring to the stage, recreate through contemporary folk dance works..."
That is why each of his works brings new perspectives to the public and touches the hearts of everyone. And to recognize his great contributions to the art industry, choreographer Do Van Hien was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist by the State in 2015 and in 2023, the joy continued to be multiplied when he was awarded the title of People's Artist.

Choreographer - People's Artist Do Van Hien shared: "The title of People's Artist is a wonderful gift for me after many years of striving and dedication to the profession. It is a great honor but also a great responsibility for an artist. Therefore, in the coming time, I will continue to contribute and spread many good works to the public. In particular, the passion for the culture of Vietnamese ethnic groups will always rise in me, and I will have to try even harder to build programs to participate in the festival as well as new works every year. In each chapter, I will exploit a separate aspect from indigenous cultural materials to get closer to the local community, touching the hearts of the audience".
Just like choreographer - People's Artist Do Van Hien, who has succeeded in a number of impressive roles such as Tu Hai in Kieu, Hamlet in Hamlet, Thien in Lau dai cat, Son "cicadas" in Trong con gio thay nang, Nguyen Hue in The su... director Ta Tuan Minh (Vietnam Drama Theater) is also one of the faces awarded the title of People's Artist this time. For him, this is the title of greatest significance in his artistic career.

"I am extremely happy that my efforts and contributions to the arts industry have been recognized. Being awarded the title of People's Artist is an honor and pride not only for me but also for my family and friends. The title will be a great motivation for me to continue to strive and devote myself to my career path" - People's Artist Ta Tuan Minh shared.
However, People's Artist Ta Tuan Minh also expressed that, besides joy and pride, he also felt a bit of pressure, because from now on the responsibility will be greater and greater. Therefore, he believes that he needs to try to develop his expertise even more, "live fully" in each work to be worthy of the love of the public and this noble title.
Encourage young talent to contribute
An even more encouraging sign is that the 10th People's Artist and Meritorious Artist conferment ceremony saw the participation of many talented young faces.
A typical example is the Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, Bui Cong Duy - a talented young violinist of Vietnam today. He has won many major international awards, including the first prize - Gold Medal at the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition for Young Artists in 1997.
Most recently, in April 2023, Bui Cong Duy was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of the Kazakhstan National University of Arts. Kazakhstan's music scene inherits the quintessence of Soviet music, so it is very high-level and unique. This is a great honor for Bui Cong Duy and the Vietnam National Academy of Music. With his successes and tireless efforts to contribute to the country's music scene, the Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music was awarded the title of People's Artist by the State.

Sharing about this joy, People's Artist Bui Cong Duy shared: "In recent times, we have also realized that the public's demand for enjoying cultural and artistic activities is increasing, so the performing arts industry is also developing strongly. Thereby, requiring artists to focus on creating more and better products and programs to send to the public. Therefore, not only me personally but any artist when being honored and recognized for their contributions to the arts industry with a noble award, recognized by society, the Party, the State and the Government, also feels very honored and proud. And especially, I feel very lucky to have received early recognition. The awards from the State and the recognition from the public have helped me feel more secure to develop my career."
According to People's Artist Bui Cong Duy, this awarding round has had a big change when many young artists were awarded the title of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist. For him, this is a great encouragement from the State for young artists.
"I think it's a great and positive thing for young people like us because this is the time when artists have good careers, also known as "the peak of their career", so when recognized and encouraged at the right time, it will encourage the spirit to help young artists continue to be creative to have bigger breakthroughs on the path of developing their careers.
And when many young people are recognized, it proves that our art industry is getting younger. Besides the veteran generation, young people, talented faces have been and are creating high-quality products, making their own marks to contribute to the art field they pursue. Those are good signals for the art industry. I am only worried that if there are not young faces in the awarding ceremonies, the art industry will increasingly lack young successors" - People's Artist Bui Cong Duy said.
However, People's Artist Bui Cong Duy shared that any award will come with great responsibility, especially for young artists because the journey of dedication to art is still very long, so young artists must make more creative efforts and strive to prove to the public, the Party, the State and the Government that the recognition is "deserved"./.
