According to the Minister, in 2025, to meet the requirements of developing the cultural industry, contributing to increasing growth to 8%, the cultural industry must complete its institutions, organize events, and through the Cultural Industry, complete the project to internationalize Vietnamese culture.

"In the general context of arranging the apparatus to operate effectively and efficiently, improving the quality of artists, all units must be rearranged, autonomous, streamlined, we must change our thinking and approach. What must art units do? At the working session, leaders of units and theaters must give advice and propose ideas so that performing arts can truly make effective contributions and generate revenue" - the Minister requested.

The Minister also requested that, on the basis of exploiting resources from the order fund and the Tourism Development Fund, it is necessary to turn NTBD into cultural products and tourism products.

According to the report of the Copyright Office, in recent times, the cultural industry has brought added value and contributed to the economy, demonstrating that it is a group of industries with national advantages in Vietnam, contributing to increasing the competitiveness of the economy and promoting the image of Vietnam to the world.

Especially in performing arts, performing activities are gradually being innovated to meet the people's increasing demand for art enjoyment. More and more programs are being produced based on exploiting traditional cultural values.

Contributing to the bright picture of NTBD in 2024 are the significant achievements of the theaters under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. According to representatives of the theaters, through performances, cooperation, and ticket sales, the Youth Theater earned about 8.5 billion VND; the Vietnam Circus Federation 14 billion VND; the Vietnam Puppetry Theater 16 billion VND; the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater 25 billion VND; the Vietnam Music and Dance Theater had a revenue of 30 billion VND...

Along with that, large-scale and daily music programs are invested and organized periodically. Dreamy Cities, Genfest, HAY Glamping Music Festival, Ho Do International Music Festival, shows by famous artists such as Ha Anh Tuan, Den Vau, Vu... have brought quality music and performing arts products to the public.

In 2023 - 2024, programs such as Chi dep dap gio, xua song; Chi dep dap gio; Anh trai dua ngan cong gai; Anh trai say hi are considered reality TV shows about music that change the entertainment trends of Vietnamese audiences.

After the broadcast, the program's explosive effect overwhelmed many people, creating a trend of loving and supporting "domestic idols". Many large-scale concerts invested, produced and staged by Vietnamese people were held, attracting thousands of audiences, bringing in hundreds of billions of VND in revenue; marking a breakthrough in the performing arts sector in general and the music sector in particular.

New forms such as live performances, reenacting cultural features or a historical period have contributed to bringing Vietnamese culture closer to the world; maximizing cultural values and preserving national identity; creating more unique products for cultural tourism of localities.

Vietnam's cultural industries will develop in a professional, modern direction, applying science and technology, innovation and digital transformation. Developing cultural industries is part of overall national strategies and planning.

Developing cultural industries contributes to enhancing the nation's soft power, building and affirming the brand for high-quality cultural products with Vietnamese cultural identity. Effectively mobilizing social resources to promote the development of cultural industries.

Along with that, in the period up to 2030, Vietnam's cultural industry products must meet the domestic consumer market, increase people's experience and consumption, and export to international markets. In the period up to 2045, increase the export of Vietnam's cultural industry products to the world, and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam's cultural industry products in the international market.

Overview of the working session

In the field of performing arts, the priority direction is to develop young, contemporary music and some traditional art forms that suit the needs and tastes of the public. Apply modern technology in music and some traditional performing arts to increase the experience value for the public, domestic and international tourists.

At the same time, improve the quality, quantity and scale of music performances to meet market demand, gradually building a brand in the region and the world.

Forming a civilized music-loving public community; artists are responsible for their profession and have a sense of responsibility for creative products to honor Vietnamese cultural values.

At the meeting, the units outlined the tasks to be done in 2025 and committed to the Minister their responsibilities for implementation. Accordingly, they must be proactive, positive, improve the quality of works of art, and turn them into tourism products. Along with that, they must proactively connect, expand markets, export cultural products, and generate revenue.

After listening to reports from relevant units and theaters, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong assessed that over the past time, theaters under the Ministry have proactively overcome a number of difficulties and developed performing arts programs to meet the increasing demand for art enjoyment of people and domestic and foreign tourists.

However, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong also pointed out that theaters are facing "broken" stages, including a lack of young human resources, creative and technical teams.

The Deputy Minister stated that in order to have quality artistic products, it is necessary to have more "seed capital" to improve the quality of the staging stage, and then consider "selling" the products. Therefore, the Deputy Minister hopes that there will be more resources to promote cooperation between the performing arts and tourism industries.

According to Deputy Minister Ho An Phong, performing arts are effectively supporting the development of Vietnam's cultural industry. In developing the performing arts and cultural industry, it is necessary to focus on the keywords of thinking, working methods, cultural products and cultural exports.

Units need to support each other, meet to discuss solutions to promote communication, promotion, cultural export, copyright protection; consider cultural and artistic products as important resources for tourism development, bringing benefits in economic - cultural - social development.

Turn cultural products into tourism products

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung assessed that 2024 is considered a "booming" year for the performing arts sector. Performing arts effectively serve political tasks; are widely communicated, and make important contributions to the development of the cultural industry.

To do this, the Minister pointed out that it is necessary to soon complete the institutions in the field of performing arts and cultural industry. Currently, there is no law regulating performing arts, only a decree. The strategy for developing Vietnam's cultural industry to 2030, with a vision to 2045, is also in the process of being developed, consulted and completed. Completing the institutions will help clear bottlenecks and create sustainable development.

After completing the institutions and strategies, the Minister requested that there must be an action plan. Actions must be drastic, "only discuss, not retreat", with innovation in thinking and approach to problems. Development solutions must yield specific results. When resources from the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025-2035 period are available, they must be allocated reasonably and used effectively to develop the above-mentioned areas.

Along with that, the Minister requested units to mobilize resources, support, and create conditions for art troupes and private event companies to participate in the research process, aiming at cultural export, especially in art forms such as circus and puppetry. Art programs when performed abroad must have a strong identity, with careful market calculations.
