The working group inspected the storm shelter area for fishing boats in An Hoa, Tam Quang fishing port (Nui Thanh district), and Cua Dai beach (Hoi An city).
Regarding the project to repair and upgrade the storm shelter anchorage area for An Hoa fishing boats in Tam Quang and Tam Giang communes, the representative of the Provincial Management Board of Investment and Construction of Agricultural and Rural Development Works said that the total investment of the project is more than 104 billion VND.
The project aims to reduce the impact of waves on the anchorage area during the storm season; minimize the silting of the channel into the anchorage area; create favorable conditions for ships to anchor to avoid storms and operate normally.
This project is currently facing problems with the support mechanism for workers on two slopes in the area.
For the project of Upgrading and expanding the storm shelter anchorage area for fishing boats in An Hoa combined with Tam Quang fishing port, The unit will invest in upgrading and completing the storm shelter anchorage area for fishing boats, with a scale of 1,200 300CV boats anchored to ensure safe shelter for people and property of fishermen in Quang Nam province and neighboring provinces during the storm season, combined with the development of fishing logistics services to serve fishermen operating at sea.
This project has completed nearly 40% of the main construction package and is in the process of selecting a contractor to construct the connecting road package to the anchorage area.
However, in the existing anchorage area, there are many aquaculture cages that affect the anchorage of ships and hinder dredging construction. The locality has not yet organized compensation and site clearance to hand over to the Management Board for construction implementation.
Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and the working delegation inspected the field, met with the owners of two embankments in Tam Quang commune, and discussed with leaders of Nui Thanh People's Committee and Hoi An City People's Committee.
The Provincial Party Secretary directed to promptly resolve problems related to the support mechanism for stopping work for workers on the slopes in Tam Quang commune; tighten management, request the relocation and dismantling of cages in the areas and proactively develop plans to meet the needs of anchoring and sheltering from storms of vehicles when the rainy and stormy season is coming and is forecasted to be complicated.
Leaders of Nui Thanh District People's Committee and Department of Agriculture and Rural Development strengthen propaganda measures to prevent IUU fishing, resolutely remove the "3 no" fishing boat situation for fishermen in the area.
In Hoi An City, local leaders said that the emergency anti-erosion embankment project of Cua Dai beach from Cam An Ward People's Committee to An Bang area of Hoi An City has been completed and is completing procedures to hand over the project.
Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet directed the investor to focus on disbursement procedures when the project is completed, ensuring the set progress.
Local authorities must proactively take emergency measures and calculate plans to protect residents in areas at high risk of landslides when adverse developments occur during the storm season. The remaining tasks to protect Hoi An's coastline must continue to be implemented to create a good environment for local tourism.
