Speaking at the Archbishop's Palace of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien affirmed that the spirit of dedication to the homeland and country of Catholic compatriots, under the guidance of the Archbishop, has achieved great results.
On the occasion of Christmas 2024, on December 22, Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee led the Central and Ho Chi Minh City delegation to congratulate at the Archbishop's Palace of the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese; At the same time, the delegation also visited and congratulated the Knight of the Grand Cross Le Duc Thinh and his wife.

At the Archbishop's Palace of the Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman Do Van Chien wished the Archbishop and Catholics a warm and peaceful Christmas and New Year 2025.
Mr. Do Van Chien highly appreciated the contributions of Archbishop Giuse Nguyen Nang and Catholic compatriots who actively participated in building the country, especially activities to strengthen the great national unity bloc, through many meaningful programs, including support, community care, participation in environmental protection programs, and response to climate change.
Chairman Do Van Chien also shared with Archbishop Giuse Nguyen Nang about many important activities of the Party, State, and Fatherland Front to bring our country towards a new era, striving to develop and become rich and strong.
Chairman Do Van Chien expressed his confidence in the success of the major policies and guidelines of the Party and State.
The head of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee said that 20 years ago, Vietnam was one of the world's poorest countries, but now our country is ranked as one of the 35 largest economies.
“In 2024, we will continue to affirm more deeply the spirit of national solidarity for the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness and civilization. In 2025, we will continue to build and implement specific programs to develop and protect the environment, this is one of many key tasks,” Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized.
Mr. Do Van Chien was pleased when Catholics included environmental protection and climate change response in their teachings so that people could respond and implement them.
Chairman Do Van Chien hopes that in the coming time, Catholics will continue to contribute and implement the motto "Living the gospel in the heart of the nation" to build a prosperous country.
Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Nang thanked the leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front for their attention.
"I sincerely thank the President for his kindness and sharing with individuals and fellow Catholics," Archbishop Giuse Nguyen Nang expressed.
Excited about the changes in the country, the Archbishop shared that in the past, we only wanted to have enough to eat and warm clothes, but now people are eating well and dressing well. That proves that the standard of living has improved a lot. “I wish the programs of the Party, the State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front success. For Catholics who always support, participate, and dedicate themselves to their homeland and country, with concrete actions, that is completely possible,” the Archbishop affirmed.
Bringing the country into a new era
Talking to the Knight of the Grand Cross Le Duc Thinh, Chairman Do Van Chien wished the family a warm and peaceful Christmas and a joyful New Year. The Chairman highly appreciated the activities of the Knights, which have made many important contributions to the Vietnam Fatherland Front in particular and the country in general in many fields. Among them are many activities to support the disadvantaged, families in difficult circumstances... which have contributed to fostering the spirit of great national unity.
Chairman Do Van Chien hopes that the Knights will continue to contribute more to society, to together build a happy life for the people.
Thanking the leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front for their concern and congratulations, Knight of the Grand Cross Le Duc Thinh said that for many years, he has been involved in activities of national reconciliation and harmony. He also shared many things about activities to unite people and support society.
The knight believes that Vietnam will enter a new era of development, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers. “No matter how difficult it is, with the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and sacrifice of each individual, I believe our country will take off,” Grand Cross Knight Le Duc Thinh hopes.
