Nguyen Thi Oanh and Nguyen Trung Cuong break records at Tay Ho Half Marathon 2025

On the morning of April 13, more than 12,000 athletes participated in the Tay Ho Half Marathon 2025 Powered by Thanh Xuan Valley. This is an annual race organized by Vu Media Joint Stock Company (VRace) in coordination with the People's Committee of Tay Ho District. This year, the race marks the 5th consecutive year of organization, continuing to affirm its position as the largest half marathon race in Vietnam.

Athletes competed in three distances: 5km, 15km and half marathon (21km). Of these, the half marathon – with the largest number of participants – recorded many outstanding achievements, especially in both amateur and professional athletes.

In the men's half marathon, athlete Nguyen Trung Cuong excellently finished first with a time of 1 hour 06 minutes 17 seconds, breaking the race record and receiving the Record Breaking Award. Following him were Mosbei Eric Kiplimo (1 hour 11 minutes 04 seconds) and Tong Van Hoan (1 hour 12 minutes 14 seconds).

In the women's category, the top three positions belonged to: Nguyen Thi Oanh (1 hour 15 minutes 43 seconds), Pham Thi Hong Le (1 hour 17 minutes 39 seconds) and Doan Thi Oanh (1 hour 21 minutes 46 seconds). Notably, athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh set a new record for the 21km distance of the tournament.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Ms. Bui Thi Lan Phuong - Vice Chairman of Tay Ho District People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee - emphasized: "After 5 years of organization, Tay Ho Half Marathon is not only a sports tournament, but has become a festival for the runners community, associated with the West Lake cultural space every April. The tournament contributes to promoting the community sports movement, while promoting the image of a dynamic, integrated and open Hanoi".
