Total retail sales of goods in October reached about VND5,173 billion, up 2.64% over the previous month and up 6.91% over the same period last year.
Most product groups saw revenue increase compared to the same period last year, with the strongest increase in the gemstone and precious metal group (up 66.3%) due to record high prices of gold and jewelry.

The two product groups with revenue decreasing in the first 10 months compared to the same period last year were passenger cars with less than 9 seats (down 31%) and means of transport (down 41%). According to analysis by the functional sector, this year, the impact of the economic recession causing people to tighten their spending, and the sluggish real estate market are the main factors affecting the decrease in revenue of these two product groups.
In the last months of the year, it is forecasted that people's shopping needs will increase, especially for essential consumer goods, food, construction materials, etc. Along with policies and programs to stimulate consumption at the end of the year, retail activities in the whole province are expected to be more vibrant, contributing to increased revenue and promoting the development of the trade and service sector.
