On June 16, a delegation of the Ivory Coast National Assembly, led by Mr. Diawara Mamadou, Vice President of the National Assembly, paid a courtesy visit to Quang Ninh province. Acting Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy and leaders of several sectors received the delegation.
At the reception, the Acting Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee was delighted to welcome the delegation of the Republic of Ivory Coast to visit Quang Ninh; discussing the potential and strengths of economic and social development of the province. In particular, Quang Ninh has been leading the provincial competitiveness index for 6 consecutive years, maintaining double-digit growth for many years. Currently, the scale of the province's economy has reached nearly 12 billion USD and the average GRDP per capita is 8,500 USD, striving to reach over 9,000 USD by the end of 2023.
Quang Ninh identifies focusing on improving the quality of administrative reform as the key to economic development, enhancing the province's competitiveness, and attracting domestic and foreign investors.
The Acting Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee informed that foreign enterprises investing in the province are mainly in the fields of manufacturing and processing, high technology, using little land and energy but with high added value.

Many investors choose Quang Ninh because the products produced locally are closely associated with the world heritage brand of Ha Long Bay. Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, hopes that the beauty of Ha Long Bay and the culture and people of Quang Ninh will bring a good business trip to the delegation; hopes that the delegation will return to Quang Ninh in particular, Vietnam in general and have more cooperation and development between the two sides.
Mr. Diawara Mamadou, Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast, expressed his impression of the achievements of Quang Ninh in recent years; briefly informed about the potential, country and people of the Republic of Ivory Coast and expressed his desire to learn from experience, cooperate and promote the development of strong relations with Vietnam. He affirmed that after the visit to Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh in particular, the delegation will inform and spread images of the country and people of Vietnam to friends around the world.
Mr. Diawara Mamadou said that currently, Vietnam is the largest importer of cashew nuts from the Republic of Ivory Coast with 80%; in contrast, the proportion of Vietnamese rice consumed by the Republic of Ivory Coast accounts for 40%. The two countries have had a cooperative relationship for nearly 50 years. The Republic of Ivory Coast highly values the cooperative relationship with Vietnam. Mr. Diawara Mamadou hopes to have the opportunity to welcome the Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province in the Republic of Ivory Coast, to witness the development of this country with his own eyes. According to Mr. Diawara Mamadou, the Republic of Ivory Coast is cooperating with Vietnam in the agricultural sector and hopes to continue to have more cooperation in purchasing agricultural machinery.
After the reception, the delegation visited the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay.
