After playing his 100th match at Wimbledon on Monday, Novak Djokovic returned to Centre Court for the third consecutive day. Djokovic saved seven out of eight break-points in the match against Rublev on July 11.

Rublev had not won a set in his last two meetings with Djokovic, before Wimbledon. The Russian was under pressure early in the rematch, saving three break points in the opening game of the set. It was Rublev who took the lead with a forehand winner to win the return game and close out the first set 6-3.

However, the world number seven threw away his mental advantage when he made two double faults in his opening service game of the second set and lost his service game. Djokovic then led 4-0 with a winner down the line, before closing out the set with a 6-1 victory.

Rublev once again had a bad start in the third set, missing two break-points and then losing his serve, trailing 2-4. The set saw a 15-minute final game, with Rublev missing three more break-points and Djokovic missing four set-points. On the fifth opportunity, Nole took advantage to win 6-4.

The final game of the third set almost decided the match. Rublev lost his spirit, lost his first serve game of the fourth set before losing 3-6 and failing in his first Wimbledon quarterfinal. In Grand Slam, Rublev lost all eight quarterfinal matches.

Nole has won 33 consecutive matches at Wimbledon, a streak only surpassed by Federer (40) and Bjorn Borg (41). Djokovic's semi-final opponent is Jannik Sinner, who lost 2-3 to Nole in last year's quarter-finals. Sinner is in his first Wimbledon semi-final, with a win over phenomenon Roman Safiullin. The Italian lost five games in a row after leading 6-4, 3-1, but came back and dominated the final two sets. Sinner advanced with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory.
