Ngan Nua Mountain is known as the place where Lady Trieu raised an army to fight against the invading army of Dong Ngo in 248. Every year, on the occasion of Tet, this place holds the "Nua Temple - Am Tien" Festival, attracting thousands of tourists and locals.

Nua Temple - Am Tien is a national historical and cultural relic, located on the top of Ngan Nua Mountain with an altitude of more than 500 meters above sea level, belonging to Am Tien National Historical Relic Site (Tan Ninh Commune, Trieu Son District, Thanh Hoa Province). This relic complex includes: Nua Mountain - Nua Temple - Am Tien, planned with a total area of 100 hectares.
The central point of the relic site is Ngan Nua peak, which is considered by the people to be one of the three "sacred acupuncture points" of Vietnam (alongside Da Chong mountain, Ba Vi district, Hanoi and Ba Den mountain, Tay Ninh province) - a place where high mountains and water gather, the sacred spiritual energy between heaven and earth converges and harmonizes.
According to scientific documents, the Nua Mountain range originates from the Truong Son range, stretching towards the sea in the Northwest-Southeast direction; there are thousands of large and small mountains evenly distributed over an area of 55 km2, surrounded by 99 mountains like elephants bowing to the top, so people call it Ngan Nua.

According to history books, in 248, Lady Trieu Thi Trinh (aka Lady Trieu) and her brother Trieu Quoc Dat gathered righteous men, chose Nua mountain as a base to practice martial arts, raise an army, and fight off the invading Eastern Wu army.
Although the uprising later failed, the female general had to commit suicide at Tung Mountain (Trieu Loc Commune, Hau Loc District, Thanh Hoa Province today), her saying: "I want to ride the strong wind, step on the fierce waves, kill the whales in the East Sea, drive out the Wu invaders to regain the country, free myself from slavery, and refuse to bow down to be someone else's concubine", is still passed down through many generations.
Over thousands of years, the traces on this mountain have been erased by time, but stories about the fairy well, fairy chess board, fairy medicine garden, fairy cave... are still told and passed down to this day and attract the attention of many tourists.
Besides, Ngan Nua is covered with clouds and mist, reminding us of the story of the hermit who turned into a crane in this place. Even the name Ngan Nua reminds us of Mr. Nua - one of the typical characters in the system of giant characters in the legend of Thanh land, who had the merit of expanding villages and fields, helping people have a livelihood, building a prosperous life from generation to generation...

Every New Year, the People's Committee of Trieu Son district organizes the Nua - Am Tien Temple Festival at the Nua - Am Tien Temple relic site.
Traditionally, the festival officially opens on January 9 every year, the day of "Opening the Heavenly Gate" (allowing visitors to burn incense and pray at the acupuncture points) and lasts until January 20.
Every year around this time, the locality welcomes thousands of visitors to come and worship, burn incense and pray for national peace and prosperity, good luck for every family, and for wealth, success in school, love, etc.
