Toyota Vietnam has just announced the launch of a recall program to add welding points to the vehicle floor for the Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio models.
This program applies to vehicles manufactured between February 19 and March 21 and will begin implementation from June 26 at all Toyota dealers nationwide. According to Toyota, there are 463 vehicles affected, including: 50 Avanza Premio vehicles and 413 Veloz Cross vehicles.

Toyota Vietnam said that the stiffener is a part welded inside the vehicle floor. On affected vehicles, the stiffener (left and right) may be missing a weld point, leading to the risk of separation and affecting the vehicle's load-bearing capacity, as well as increasing the risk of body deformation in the event of a collision.
Customers who own affected vehicles will be notified by their Toyota dealership to bring their vehicles in for inspection. Based on the results of the inspection, the customer’s vehicle will have the necessary weld points added. The inspection and repair time is expected to be between 0.7 and 1.9 hours per vehicle.
“Toyota Vietnam recommends that customers with affected vehicles quickly bring their vehicles to Toyota dealers nationwide for free inspection and replacement,” the Japanese car company announced.
Previously, in January 2024, Toyota Vietnam had to recall 25,971 Veloz, Avanza, and Yaris Cross vehicles because the shock absorber nut tightening force may not be guaranteed. In addition, 6,386 vehicles including Raize, Veloz Cross, and Avanza were also recalled due to dust cover related issues.
