Special historical mark
The Guangdong Assembly Hall is a place to worship Guan Yu and Tian Hou, two sacred figures in the beliefs of the Chinese community. The most special thing here is the stone plaque engraved with the words: "Mr. Sun Yat-sen, the forerunner of the great Democratic Revolution of China, was here in 1904."
Sun Yat-sen, a famous revolutionary, helped shape democracy in China and had a profound influence on national liberation movements in Asia, including Vietnam.
President Ho Chi Minh highly appreciated Sun Yat-sen's ideology, especially the "Three Principles of the People" policy and the anti-imperialist platform. The preservation of this relic not only shows respect for historical values, but also affirms the friendly relationship between the Vietnamese and Chinese peoples.

The Cantonese Assembly Hall covers an area of 1,670 square meters and is built on three main axes: the Front Hall, the Middle Hall, and the Back Hall. Each part is meticulously designed with traditional architectural styles combined with the unique features of the Chinese community.
The front hall is designed with a yin-yang tiled roof, the wall surface and floor are covered with gray slate, creating a majestic look. Above are ceramic motifs arranged according to the concept of "heaven - earth - human", symbolizing the harmony between humans and nature.
The pavilion, which used to be the center of the Chinese community, was designed in the style of a square house with four roofs, decorated with sophisticated patterns such as the "four sacred animals" (dragon, unicorn, turtle, phoenix) and the "four noble plants" (pine, chrysanthemum, bamboo, apricot).
The inner palace, where Guan Yu is worshiped, stands out with its elaborately carved panel doors. The statues of Guan Yu, Zhou Chang, and Guan Ping have more symbolic meaning than artistic value, emphasizing the spirit of protecting truth and morality.

The Cantonese Assembly Hall is highly regarded for its ceramic roof decoration, along with wood and stone carvings. The roof carvings are divided into three levels: the upper level is dedicated to sacred symbols such as dragons, unicorns, turtles, and phoenixes; the middle and lower levels depict scenes of daily life and ancient Chinese legends.
Images such as "The Tang Monk's Practice", "The Three Caves" or "The Iron Fan Princess" make the work a vivid picture of culture and art.
The Cantonese Assembly Hall is not only an architectural work but also a historical witness, marking the cultural exchange between the Chinese and Vietnamese. Preserving and promoting the value of this heritage is a testament to respect for history and good international relations.
Visiting the Guangdong Assembly Hall, visitors not only admire the architectural beauty but also have the opportunity to learn more about a part of Hanoi's rich history and important milestones in the nation's development journey.
