According to photographer Tran Son, Vietnamese costumes are beautiful because of their colors and designs that are different from modern costumes. They are also interesting because of the characteristics of life and historical information on each pattern, motif, and accessory - looking at the costume, you can "read" the dynasty.
"When I am commissioned to take photos of Vietnamese costumes, I usually invest very carefully, starting with the costumes themselves, based on the nature and style of each item to build a suitable story. To take beautiful photos of Vietnamese costumes, I also have to look for subjects that are suitable for the image to be both new and reasonable to increase the effectiveness and liveliness of the photo set," said photographer Tran Son.

Vietnamese costume is a vivid picture reflecting the richness of fashion culture. It tells the story of the development of society through each historical period. The four-flap shirt (Vien Linh) combined with black skirt, white silk pants or Giao Linh, Truc Linh combined with short skirt, yếm shirt, short-sleeved shirt... of the Ly - Tran dynasties. Or the five-panel shirt (for women) or the body-length blouse (for men) of the Nguyen dynasty.
"I am very passionate about taking photos of culture, especially traditional culture. I have done many photo series of this type and always try to express my personal perspective through each work. When taking photos, I prioritize choosing backgrounds and locations such as historical sites or traditional spaces to help round out the beauty of the costumes and highlight the ancient Vietnamese cultural story that I want to convey," photographer Tran Son continued.
Vietnamese costumes and the services that follow them not only record beautiful, unique and strange fashion images but also help to feel more deeply about Vietnamese cultural values during Tet.
