Provincial historical and cultural relic: Po Nrop Temple (Po Nrap)

Po Norop Temple is located at Nuoc Cat Loi hill/bon Aia Mu, Palei Paplôm, Tuy Tinh 2 village, Phong Phu commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.

In the temple there is a statue of Po Norop sitting on a high pedestal, in front of him is his son named Cei Sit Kahoong. In front of the temple there is a Linga and Yoni set worshiping the god Ginor Patri. There is only one main door facing north for entry and exit, the other three directions are closed.

In 1972, local people contributed labor and money to restore the temple.

The Legend of Po Norop

According to ancient records, Po Nrop was born in the year of the Ox and was the younger brother of Po Rame. Po Nrop ascended the throne in the year of the Dragon and reigned for two years in the capital city of Pangdurangga from 1652 to 1653.

Pô Nrop was the last king of the Pangdurangga dynasty.

Po Norop, together with Po Bobook Phoong (Po Bo Phon), joined forces to mobilize the people in the area to successfully build the Ba-ra dam in the 17th century. Now the Song Long Song lake was expanded and modernized by the Binh Thuan provincial government to provide water for daily life and agricultural production for the entire northern region of Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.

Temple worship

In April according to the Cham calendar, the Yor Yang Festival is held and on the first day of July according to the Cham calendar, the villagers hold the Kate Festival at the Po Nrop temple.

Po Norop Temple in Tuy Tinh 2 village, Phong Phu commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province was ranked as a provincial-level Historical-Cultural Relic by the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province according to Decision No. 2994/QD-UBND dated November 27, 2013.
