Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Decision 1735/QD-TTg dated December 29, 2023 approving the Planning of Thai Binh province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, with the goal of the Planning being that by 2030, Thai Binh will become a locality in the fairly developed group and one of the industrial development centers of the Red River Delta; have a modern economic structure with industry as the main driving force for growth so that Thai Binh can develop rapidly, comprehensively and sustainably.

Along with that, there is a synchronous and modern investment in technical infrastructure, social infrastructure, and urban areas. Science, technology, innovation, and knowledge economy become factors to improve growth quality; strongly develop high-quality human resources. Cultural and social fields develop synchronously with economic development, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people; the ecological environment is protected; national defense and security are maintained.

By 2050, Thai Binh will be a developed province of the Red River Delta; with a prosperous economy, progressive society and a guaranteed ecological environment. Economic growth is based on science and technology, innovation and highly competitive pillar economic sectors. The technical infrastructure and social infrastructure systems are invested synchronously, modernly, and connected inter-regionally. Traditional and cultural values are preserved and promoted; the material and spiritual life of the people is guaranteed and constantly improved. National defense, security, and social order and safety are maintained.

The plan clearly states: Thai Binh develops industry in the direction of modernity, advanced technology, high added value; participates deeply and comprehensively in the production network and global value chain; promotes potentials and strengths to make Thai Binh one of the industrial and energy development centers of the Red River Delta.

Encourage investment in developing industries that have strengths and can create breakthroughs in the province such as: energy; mechanical processing and manufacturing; high-tech industry; electricity - electronics; processing of agricultural, forestry and fishery products... Continue to maintain light industries that create many jobs and ensure social security such as textiles, footwear, handicrafts...

Focus on researching and developing wind power and gas power to create clean power sources and balance emissions; research and invest in building a Condensate Processing Plant; prepare all conditions for building and putting into operation the Thai Binh LNG Thermal Power Plant. Stabilize and effectively operate 02 existing thermal power plants, in parallel with finding alternative fuel sources to coal.

According to the Plan, agriculture is still identified as an important pillar in the province's economic development, contributing to ensuring national food security. Thai Binh aims to become the leading agricultural production center in the Red River Delta.

Focus on developing and modernizing the production of agricultural, forestry and fishery products; perfecting the value chain of agricultural production in the province. Building concentrated agricultural production areas, applying high technology. Focusing on building agricultural product brands, expanding the consumption areas of agricultural products in the province; creating industry and regional linkages to promote sustainable, effective and highly competitive agricultural production development...
