Through the inspection and handling of fishing vessels violating regulations, in response to the task of combating IUU fishing, the Thanh Hoa Fisheries Sub-Department has coordinated with functional forces to review and summarize fishing vessels without fishing licenses, fishing licenses expired for 10 days or more; fishing vessels violating regulations on prohibited fishing areas, fishing areas on the list of fishing vessels at high risk of violating IUU regulations. At the same time, vessels that have overcome the above violations have been removed from the list of fishing vessels at high risk of violating IUU regulations.
By July 29, Thanh Hoa province had reviewed and announced a list of 306 fishing vessels at high risk of violating regulations against IUU fishing and removed 80 vessels from the list of vessels at risk of violation (21 vessels from Nghi Son town, 19 vessels from Quang Xuong district, 20 vessels from Hau Loc district, 19 vessels from Sam Son city, 1 vessel from Hoang Hoa district).
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa province has sent an official dispatch requesting the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Border Guard Commands of coastal provinces and cities to coordinate in inspecting and strictly handling fishing vessels of Thanh Hoa fishermen whose fishing licenses have expired but still participate in fishing in the waters of the provinces; directing competent authorities to strictly control the docking and departure of fishing vessels of Thanh Hoa fishermen, resolutely not allowing fishing vessels without full procedures, documents and equipment to go to sea for fishing activities. At the same time, provide and exchange information on cases of fishing vessels of Thanh Hoa fishermen violating regulations for timely coordination in handling.
At the same time, assign the Thanh Hoa Fishing Port Management Board to direct fishing ports and the Thanh Hoa Fisheries Inspection and Control Representative Office to direct the fisheries inspection and control teams: Lach Hoi, Lach Bang and Hoa Loc to post a list of 306 fishing vessels at high risk of IUU violations at fishing ports, resolutely not allowing fishing vessels without sufficient paperwork and equipment to dock to unload aquatic products; advise competent authorities to strictly handle fishing vessels violating regulations on combating IUU fishing.
