Today, November 11, the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Tri province sent a document to the Provincial People's Committee requesting to terminate the operation of the plantation wood processing factory of Duc Hung Quang Tri Wood One Member Co., Ltd. in Dong Ai Tu Industrial Park, Ai Tu town, Trieu Phong district. The reason is that from September 2022 until now, the factory has been closed and stopped operating.
The project of the Planted Wood Processing Factory of Duc Hung Quang Tri Wood One Member Co., Ltd. in Dong Ai Tu Industrial Cluster, Ai Tu Town, Trieu Phong District was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 2488/QD-UBND dated October 26, 2018, and approved the adjustment of the investment policy in Decision No. 3005/QD-UBND dated December 21, 2018.
The project's objective is to invest synchronously in facilities and equipment to produce and process refined products from wood blanks with a capacity of 1,000 m3 of raw wood/year, an expected land area of 5,047 m2 , and a total investment of more than 6.2 billion VND.
On March 2, 2023, the People's Committee of Trieu Phong district reported to the Provincial People's Committee on the suspension of the plantation wood processing factory of Duc Hung Quang Tri Wood One Member Co., Ltd. Accordingly, the company invested in building an office, a production workshop and installing machinery and equipment to put the project into operation. However, from September 2022 to now, the factory has been closed and has no machinery or equipment inside.
The Department of Planning and Investment held a working session to inspect the implementation of the project of the Plantation Wood Processing Factory of Duc Hung Quang Tri Wood One Member Co., Ltd. with the participation of representatives of departments, branches and localities. The members attending the working session agreed to make a record of the suspension of the Plantation Wood Processing Factory project of Duc Hung Quang Tri Wood One Member Co., Ltd. and take steps to terminate the project according to the provisions of Article 48 of the Investment Law 2020.
According to regulations, if a project has been inactive for more than 12 months and the investment registration agency cannot contact the investor, the project must be terminated. The Department of Planning and Investment requests the Provincial People's Committee to consider and agree on the policy of terminating the operation of the Planted Wood Processing Factory project of Duc Hung Quang Tri Wood One Member Co., Ltd. to have a basis for carrying out the procedures to terminate the investment project according to regulations.
