On January 3, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) held a conference to review the work in 2023 and deploy key tasks in 2024. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech.

Speaking at the conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung stated that in 2023, the culture, sports and tourism sector had positive changes and achieved important results in a number of aspects.
According to the leader of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, 2024 is an important year in implementing socio-economic development goals according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the period 2021-2025. The world situation is forecast to continue to develop in a complex and unpredictable manner.
In that context, the culture, sports and tourism sector nationwide needs to further promote its core role in the cause of "Reviving Vietnamese culture in the new era", continuing to effectively implement 6 groups of tasks and 4 groups of solutions to build, preserve and promote the unique values of advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, as directed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the 2021 National Cultural Conference.

The consistent goal and task is to "Strongly arouse the spirit of patriotism, national self-reliance and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country", actively contributing with the whole country to complete the goals and tasks of socio-economic development in 2024.
Revenue of 850,000 billion VND from tourism
Emphasizing the key tasks in 2024, the leader of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that in the field of tourism, the Ministry will step up the direction and implementation of measures to ensure safety for tourists. Strengthen management and control of the quality of tourism services, proactively develop plans and prepare conditions to serve tourists, first of all during the Lunar New Year.
In 2024, strive to welcome 18 million international tourists; 110 million domestic tourists, total tourism revenue is estimated at 850,000 billion VND.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also submitted to the Prime Minister for promulgation the Vietnam Tourism Development System Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045; the Prime Minister's Directive on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development.
Minister Nguyen Van Hung said that the culture, sports and tourism industry will have positive changes in 2023.
Develop a green tourism action program for the period 2023-2025 and the following years. Develop evaluation criteria and implement a green growth ranking system for tourist destinations and tourism businesses in Vietnam; Project to establish tourism promotion offices in some key markets; Plan to implement thematic tourism marketing campaigns, organize programs to introduce Vietnamese tourism in key markets.
