American director James Cameron said the third "Avatar" part is called "Fire and Ash", scheduled to hit theaters on December 19, 2025.
According to Variety , director James Cameron announced the new film's title at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event - an event for Disney fans - on August 9 (local time). The film's stars Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington were also present on stage.
While no footage was shown, Cameron teased some concept art for the project, including a look at Saldaña's Neytiri dancing on fire and riding the Ikran creature. "People are going to see more of Pandora. It's a crazy adventure and a visual feast, with a lot of emotion. We're going to explore this land with characters that people love," the director said.
Part three Fire and Ash rotated parallel to the part Avatar: The Way of Water . The new film continues the events of the second part, when Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri encounter the Ash tribe.
In an interview with Variety "The third film will explore new cultures. Fire will be represented by the Ash people. I want to introduce the Na'vi in a new light.
