Singing the song "Remembering Autumn in Hanoi" on Trinh Cong Son street was really special.
Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Swedish Ambassador Ann Mawe said her Vietnamese is not very good. But she tried very hard to practice and sing by heart two songs Remembering Autumn in Hanoi (Trinh Cong Son) and Em oi, Ha Noi pho (music by Phu Quang, poetry by Phan Vu).
"I also really like modern Vietnamese songs, but I don't know the lyrics so I can't sing them," the ambassador laughed out loud.
When asked specifically, she listed a few names such as Thinh Suy, Vu Thanh Van, the band Saigon Soul Revival...

Ambassador Ann Mawe said she cycles to work quite often. In her observation, Hanoi is most beautiful and dynamic in the morning and late afternoon. Those are the "sceneries" she loves the most.
In the morning, Mrs. Ann likes to watch people exercising and eating breakfast on the sidewalk. She also likes to see flowers around West Lake, and the women who buy flowers from Quang Ba flower market then cycle around the streets to sell them.

In the late afternoon, she enjoys watching young people strolling around West Lake. "I wish more Vietnamese people would cycle because it is better for the environment and it is good exercise for them. I also hope all Vietnamese children will wear helmets when riding motorbikes," she said.
In September 2019, Ms. Ann Mawe was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Vietnam. Her term in Vietnam will end soon.
The ambassador told Tuoi Tre Online that she and her family had 5 wonderful years here, and that when they return, they will miss it very much and that her family will definitely come back to visit Vietnam.
