11th Congress of Farmers' Association of Di Linh district

(LĐ online) - On June 23, the Farmers' Association of Di Linh district held the 11th Congress of the District Farmers' Association, term 2023 - 2028 with the theme "Democracy - Solidarity - Innovation - Development".

Comrades: Da Cat Vinh - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; Dinh Van Tuan - Secretary of Di Linh District Party Committee, along with district leaders and 184 delegates who are farmers' association members in the district attended the congress.

Di Linh district has 18 communes and 1 town. The total population of the district is 161,212 people, of which farmers account for about 70% of the social labor force. The district currently has 27,628 farmer members operating in 19 grassroots associations.

Over the past 5 years, the Executive Committee of the Farmers' Association at all levels in Di Linh district has had many innovations and creations with focus and key points in directing, implementing, organizing the implementation of the Association's tasks and building the farmers' movement, thereby completing 12/12 targets set out in the Resolution of the 10th Congress, term 2018 - 2023.

Specifically, the Association at all levels identified the task of building a strong Association in all three aspects of politics, ideology and organization as a key task, thereby attracting over 6,000 farmers to the Association, exceeding the target of the 10th Congress Resolution.

Introducing the new Executive Committee

To create a solid foundation to encourage farmers to compete in labor and production, in the past 5 years, the District Farmers' Association has proactively coordinated with relevant units to open 38 primary vocational classes; organized 1,300 propaganda sessions, training and transferring science and technology for over 127 thousand members and farmers to participate. There are 153 households borrowing capital for agricultural production with an amount of 8 billion VND. The capital of the Farmers' Support Fund at all levels has invested and disbursed to farmers to carry out 66 projects, with an amount of over 12 billion VND.

The movement of farmers competing in production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty continues to spread among farmers. Not only developing the family economy, good production and business farmers also support 1.5 billion VND, over 3,000 laborers and 25,000 seedlings and breeds of all kinds for poor and disadvantaged farmer members to have conditions to develop production.

Collectives and individuals received certificates of merit from the Provincial Farmers' Association

In the construction of new rural areas, the Farmers' Association at district and grassroots levels has mobilized cadres, members, and farmers to donate land, contribute over 29 billion VND, participate in over 18,720 working days to repair and renew over 36 km of rural roads, build community houses, dredge canals, drainage culverts... contributing to the construction of 100% of communes meeting new rural standards, 2 advanced new rural communes, 1 model new rural commune, participating in the construction of type 4 urban areas for Di Linh town and type V for Hoa Ninh commune.

Di Linh is an area where 41% of the population are ethnic minorities. Farmers' Associations at all levels have mobilized ethnic minority members to gradually eliminate unsuitable customs, build cement yards, toilets and support science and technology to help people get rich.

Di Linh District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to collectives

The activities of the Association and the farmers' movement of the District Farmers' Association over the past 5 years have been assessed and classified as strong or better by the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association. The position and role of the District Farmers' Association continue to be the center and core of the farmers' movement and the construction of new rural areas.

Speaking at the Congress, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Da Cat Vinh and Secretary of the Di Linh District Party Committee Dinh Van Tuan expressed his joy and acknowledged the efforts of the officials and members of the District Farmers' Association in the past term. At the same time, he pointed out the issues and tasks that the District Farmers' Association at all levels need to overcome and focus on implementing in the coming time. In particular, special attention is paid to mobilizing the participation and responsibility of District Farmers' Association members in sustainable poverty reduction and participating in new rural construction. That is an important basis for Di Linh district to successfully implement the goal of building a new rural district by 2024.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Di Linh District Farmers' Association, a new term of 33 comrades. The new Executive Committee of the Di Linh District Farmers' Association elected the Standing Committee of the District Farmers' Association, term XI, 2023-2028, consisting of 9 comrades. Of which, comrade Hoang Xuan Hoa was re-elected as Chairman of the Di Linh District Farmers' Association, term XI. The Congress also elected 26 comrades to attend the higher-level Congress.

On this occasion, the Provincial Farmers' Association awarded certificates of merit to 2 individuals and 2 groups; Di Linh District People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 13 groups and 17 individuals; Di Linh District Farmers' Association awarded certificates of merit to 15 groups and 15 individuals who excellently completed their tasks in the Association's work and farmers' movement for the 2018-2023 term.
