Don't let Ha Nam waste its potential
Located in the heart of the Red River Delta, just a 45-minute drive from Hanoi and conveniently connected to neighboring provinces, Ha Nam has long been a bright spot in attracting investment. In the first 6 months of the year alone, Ha Nam attracted 29 new investment projects, including 10 FDI projects and 19 domestic investment projects. This has greatly contributed to the local economic growth rate, ranking 4th in the country and leading the Red River Delta region.
Ha Nam's investment attraction is increasingly prosperous.
Notably, in addition to the industrial sector, Ha Nam is attracting "big guys" to invest in urban development, tourism - services - trade, to elevate the destination with up to 2,000 unique historical and cultural relics.
As Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thien, former Director of the Vietnam Economic Institute, said, no matter how you praise the advantages, they are just potential. If you want the advantages to become real competitive capabilities, one of the decisive factors is the business. "To do that, you have to invite businesses of the right caliber. Ha Nam has long been known as famous for attracting investment, but it is low-quality investment, not high-class investment, so it has not been able to turn the situation around," said Mr. Thien.
Phu Thu Interchange connecting Phap Van - Ninh Binh Expressway with Ring Road 5 of the Capital Region through Ha Nam is under construction.
Looking back over a long period of time, apart from Tam Chuc tourist area, most of Ha Nam's historical relics and scenic spots have not yet appeared on the tourist map. The southern gateway province of Hanoi still does not have modern urban areas. Commenting on the weaknesses of local tourism, Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee, admitted that tourism products are not diverse, infrastructure is still quite modest, traffic connections are not synchronized... These limitations make Ha Nam tourism unable to attract a large number of foreign tourists, but mainly domestic tourists. Therefore, Ha Nam is determined to attract "eagles" to create key projects for the province.
“With the simultaneous implementation of many new projects on infrastructure, transportation, large-scale urban projects combined with entertainment areas, theme parks, especially the participation of large tourism businesses such as Sun Group, Ha Nam tourism will certainly have many breakthroughs, attracting many domestic and international tourists,” Mr. Huy believes.
Bac Chau Giang area has convenient traffic connections and large land fund, suitable for developing large urban areas with full amenities.
The appeal of dynamic projects
On August 8, Ha Nam province started the Sun Urban City project in Bac Chau Giang - the area planned to be the new administrative center of the province in the future. The project is invested by Sun Group with a scale of up to 420 hectares, with the development orientation of a suburban resort city with 1,001 amenities in the south of Hanoi, with a total investment of 35,000 billion VND.
According to Mr. Truong Quoc Huy, the project will bring a new look to Phu Ly City with multiple objectives: Developing an ecological, environmentally friendly urban area; building a civilized, modern urban area, bringing a multi-utility life to the people; changing the economic structure of Ha Nam province, shifting from agriculture to service and trade economy, thereby improving the lives of local people.
Sun Urban City Perspective – a project expected to bring a new look to Phu Ly
“People whose land is acquired for this urban project will be arranged to change jobs to tourism and commercial services right in the project area, they will have better jobs and higher income. From the perspective of urban management, this project has a very low construction density - about 18%, but it contributes greatly to the provincial budget. From this budget source, we will focus on investing in transport infrastructure, schools, hospitals and other social facilities to bring a better quality of life to local people,” said Mr. Huy.
The Chairman of Ha Nam Province also expects that this urban area, with the integration of many large parks such as Sun World Park, sports park, festival park, cultural park and ecological park, will bring Ha Nam a modern urban area, harmonizing modern elements with nature. When completed, Sun Urban City Ha Nam will certainly become an ideal suburban resort city for tourists from Hanoi and the Red River Delta region on every holiday and weekend.
The diverse utility system of Sun Urban City will raise the living standards of residents.
Looking back at the resort, entertainment and luxury real estate ecosystems invested by Sun Group across the country, they are all dynamic projects, contributing to beautifying the land, attracting visitors, contributing to the budget, creating jobs for local people, such as Sam Son Sea Square Urban Area - Sun Grand Boulevard, Sunset Town in Phu Quoc...
In Sam Son, with the appearance of the Sea Square, the festival landscape axis and the large-scale water park, the number of visitors in the first 6 months of this year reached 6 million, accounting for 65% of the total number of visitors in the province. In Quang Ninh, in 2016 when Sun World Ha Long was inaugurated, the mining land welcomed 8.3 million visitors; by 2019, this number had nearly doubled, reaching 14 million.
With the existing advantages in tourism and the upgrading of transport infrastructure, the large projects and series of high-class events implemented by Sun Group in the coming time will contribute to increasing the attractiveness of Ha Nam destination, striving to achieve the goal of welcoming 10 million visitors by 2030, especially aiming at the further goal of turning Ha Nam into a city directly under the Central Government by 2050 as approved planning.
