On the evening of January 19, in Thanh Hoa City, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province and the People's Committee of Dien Bien province opened the Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Cultural and Tourism Week, with the theme "Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa - Convergence of Colors".

Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Cultural and Tourism Week is one of the events of Dien Bien National Tourism Year 2024, and aims to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, said that although Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa provinces are in two different regions, they have many similarities in history, culture, people and terrain.
"In the Dien Bien Phu victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world" nearly 70 years ago, Thanh Hoa province made many important contributions, taking the lead in the campaign in terms of manpower, resources and fighting forces. Through the Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Cultural Tourism Week, Dien Bien province hopes to create a good impression on the people and tourists of Thanh Hoa, bringing a clearer view of Dien Bien's tourism potential, and kindling in everyone's heart a safe, friendly, attractive and national identity-rich destination in the far west of the country," said Mr. Bang.
Mr. Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee delivered the opening speech of Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Culture and Tourism Week.
Representing Thanh Hoa province, Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that the Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Culture and Tourism Week is an opportunity for the two provinces to introduce their historical, cultural and human values. From there, once again demonstrate the spirit of solidarity between the two provinces, including history, present, and future.
"Thanh Hoa province hopes to further connect and cooperate with Dien Bien province to develop tourism in both provinces, contributing to bringing Vietnamese tourism to the world," said Mr. Tung.
Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee spoke at the ceremony.
Dien Bien - Thanh Hoa Culture and Tourism Week in Thanh Hoa province will take place from January 19 to 21 at Lam Son Square (Thanh Hoa City), with many activities to introduce, preserve and promote the types of national cultural heritage of the two provinces of Dien Bien and Thanh Hoa; linking cultural preservation with promoting tourism potential and strengths, socio-economic development in the period of innovation, integration and development.
