The book "Lifelong Learning" by author Peter Hollins is a concise and succinct synthesis of the learning society and suggests ways of lifelong learning.

On June 10, 2023, the Prime Minister launched the "Lifelong Learning" movement. Since the beginning of June this year, on behalf of the Politburo, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has signed and issued the Regulation on revolutionary ethical standards for cadres and party members in the new period. In which, Article 5 clearly states: "Be exemplary, modest, self-cultivate, practice, and learn throughout life".

On this occasion, education expert Tong Lien Anh and Dr. Le Anh Thu chose to translate the book Lifelong Learning by author Peter Hollins with the desire to contribute to promoting people to study regularly, responding to the call for the whole country to compete to build a learning society and lifelong learning.

The book begins by mentioning the psychological barriers and fears of learners, helping readers to break down their psychological barriers and prepare a mindset for lifelong learning.

In the following chapters, the author provides detailed instructions for readers to realize lifelong learning, in which readers need to remember that we learn not only in school, not only in a master's or doctoral degree, but learn regularly and continuously throughout life.

The book will help readers know how to set the most effective learning goals, ask questions to develop and accelerate learning 10 times, thereby creating a complete learning "curriculum" for themselves. Accordingly, the author argues that on the path of lifelong learning, reading plays an important role. Read more and absorb information as quickly as possible because "the habit of reading will bring you into the world of knowledge and expand your thinking capacity".

Sharing about the book, Prof. Dr. Pham Tat Dong - former Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education - said: "As someone who wants to become a learning citizen, I read a lot of books, newspapers, and scientific works. But the book Lifelong Learning by Peter Hollins really attracted me, because it briefly summarizes the understanding of the learning society, and more than that, it also suggests ways of lifelong learning to create the future. The ideas that Peter Hollins puts forward have many similarities with the indicators measuring the capacity and qualities of learning citizens that we are implementing throughout the residential areas of the country."

Lifelong Learning is a book in the Learner book series of TIMES Publishing House. This book series also has books on the same topic such as Super Learning, Learning like Einstein, School and Society…

Peter Hollins is a psychologist specializing in consulting and researching human behavior in the US. He has consulted and trained dozens of people from all walks of life for about 10 years. From his own experiences in studying, researching and training individuals, he has written many books on self-training, most notably books on discipline, self-awareness, tireless effort, and how to find motivation in life.
