Within the framework of his official friendship visit to Cuba, on the morning of April 15, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang had a working meeting with comrade Bruno Rodriguez, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.
At the meeting, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and the Vietnamese Government delegation to Cuba, highly appreciating the significance and importance of the visit to the Vietnam-Cuba brotherly relationship, especially in the current context when the world situation is complicated, requiring Vietnam and Cuba to strengthen solidarity and cooperation.
Minister Bruno Rodriguez believes that Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang's visit will contribute to continuing to effectively implement the agreements of the two countries' senior leaders and create a new milestone in the history of traditional Vietnam-Cuba relations.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang expressed his joy at visiting Cuba for the first time and having a working meeting with his comrade. Bruno Rodriguez; congratulated the two countries on successfully organizing many important events in bilateral relations such as the 50th anniversary of the visit of Leader Fidel Castro to the liberated zone of South Vietnam (September 1979 - September 2023), the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Solidarity Committee with South Vietnam, the predecessor of the current Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association (September 25, 1963 - September 25, 2023), as well as the visits of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Cuba in April 2023 and the visit of the Cuban National Assembly Chairman to Vietnam in September 2023, believes that the above activities have contributed to further deepening understanding, solidarity, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries .
The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Cuba on its important achievements in the context of many difficulties and challenges due to the blockade and embargo; affirmed Vietnam's consistent stance of always being united and supporting Cuba, opposing and calling for an end to the blockade and embargo policy against Cuba in all forms.
Vietnam always cares about and believes that Cuba, with its heroic and indomitable tradition, will overcome difficulties and challenges and gain even greater achievements in its noble cause, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the situation in each country, reviewed and evaluated areas of cooperation, and discussed directions and measures to further deepen and comprehensively develop the Vietnam-Cuba friendship and cooperation.
The two sides agreed to continue to closely coordinate in preparation for high-level visits and contacts, effectively promote existing dialogue and cooperation mechanisms; increase delegation exchanges between ministries, branches, localities and business communities of the two countries; seek solutions to promote trade-investment relations and cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as agriculture, construction, education-healthcare, pharmaceuticals, science-technology, culture-sports and people-to-people exchange.
The two sides also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern, agreeing to continue to closely coordinate and support each other at international organizations and multilateral forums of which Vietnam and Cuba are members, especially at the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement.
The two sides also shared the stance of resolving international disputes by peaceful means, on the basis of respect for international law and the United Nations Charter./.
