On August 27, at the Government Guest House, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son received Mr. Hung Ba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam, who came to say farewell at the end of his term of office in Vietnam.

In a friendly, sincere and open atmosphere, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and Ambassador Hung Ba emphasized the importance of the Vietnam-China bilateral relationship in the overall foreign policy of each country; expressed their joy at the historical milestones in the development of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in recent years, especially during nearly 6 years of Ambassador Hung Ba working in Vietnam.

Notably, the two sides have deepened and elevated the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, agreed to build a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance; successfully implemented mutual visits by the General Secretaries of the two Parties, most recently the State visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lam (August 18-20, 2024).

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son congratulated Ambassador Hung Ba on successfully completing his term in Vietnam, acknowledged and highly appreciated Ambassador Hung Ba's dedication and positive contributions in promoting the deep, comprehensive and substantive development of the relationship between the two Parties and countries, which is prominently demonstrated in such aspects as: high-level strategic exchanges and contacts at all levels are maintained regularly, thereby political trust is constantly consolidated, the atmosphere of friendship and cooperation spreads strongly to all levels, sectors, localities and people of the two countries; substantive cooperation in various fields has achieved many positive developments, especially in economics - trade, investment, connecting development strategies, cooperation in new areas such as digital transformation, green development; people-to-people exchanges have taken place vigorously; During the COVID-19 pandemic, China is one of the countries that has provided the most COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam, thereby helping Vietnam to effectively control and safely adapt to the pandemic and promote the reopening of the economy. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister emphasized that in the coming time, the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam will continue to work with Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities to promote the comprehensive, substantive and effective implementation of important common perceptions of the two sides' senior leaders, especially the Joint Statements reached during the recent mutual visits of the two Parties and two countries' top leaders. Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador Hung Ba expressed his honor to be entrusted by the Party and State of China with the task of being the Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, having the opportunity to be a bridge, contributing to promoting and strengthening the friendly and cooperative relations between the two Parties and two countries of China and Vietnam.

Recalling the profound and unforgettable memories during his term of office in Vietnam, Ambassador Hung Ba expressed his emotions and wished to send his most sincere thanks to the leaders of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly of Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam for supporting and creating favorable conditions for the Ambassador to successfully complete his term of office. Ambassador Hung Ba affirmed that after the end of his term, regardless of his position, he will always carry with him good memories and feelings about the country and people of Vietnam; continue to actively contribute to building the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
