The teacher beat the first grader more than once.

The incident in which teacher Vo Thi T, a teacher at Ba Dinh Primary School (Bim Son town, Thanh Hoa province), used her hand to hit TPN, a student of class 1B, causing bruises and scratching of the ear on October 10, is being handled by the authorities.

According to the report of Ba Dinh Primary School sent to the Department of Education and Training of Bim Son town: at 9:00 a.m. on October 11, Mr. T.D.H (residing in Quarter 4, Ba Dinh Ward, Bim Son Town), father of TPN, a student in class 1B, reported to the school that teacher Vo Thi T, homeroom teacher of class 1B, beat student TPN, leaving scratches and bruises on her back.

The parents showed the principal the ultrasound and X-ray results at Bim Son General Hospital on the morning of October 11 and saw the actual injury status of TPN. At the same time, the parents and the principal reviewed the camera footage of the math class on Thursday afternoon, from 2:25 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on October 10.

Immediately after receiving the report from the parents, the school principal consulted with the board of directors and invited teacher Vo Thi T to report the incident. Teacher Vo Thi T said that because TPN brought toys into the classroom and played during math class, she could not control herself and used her hands to twist her ears and pat her on the back and head.

Speaking to reporters, Ms. Vo Dao Hoa - Principal of Ba Dinh Primary School said that after the incident, the school took steps to check and verify. Extracting surveillance cameras at the school, it was discovered that Ms. T not only beat student N, but also had violent behavior towards many students in class 1B.

Ms. Hoa added that this was not the first time Ms. T had beaten a student. In the 2023-2024 school year, this teacher had used a ruler to hit a student, leaving a bruise on her arm. After the incident, the teacher self-criticized and later, the parents submitted a petition to the school to let her return to teaching.

Currently, TPN students have returned to school. Authorities are investigating and verifying the extent of Ms. Vo Thi T’s violations. Once the conclusion is reached, the school will take appropriate disciplinary action.
