Authorities used a pulley to successfully rescue four people from Phuoc Chanh commune (Phuoc Son district, Quang Nam) who were trapped in the middle of the Dak Mi river due to sudden floodwaters.
On the afternoon of December 14, Mr. Ho Van Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuoc Chanh Commune (Phuoc Son District, Quang Nam) said that the authorities had rescued 4 people who were working in the fields and were stuck in the middle of the river to safety.
Earlier, at around 5:00 p.m. on December 13, four men from Village 3 (Phuoc Chanh Commune) were on their way home from farming when they suddenly encountered rising floodwaters when they passed the intersection of Dak Se Stream and Dak Mi River. They were stuck on a rocky island in the middle of the river junction, downstream of Dak Mi 3 Hydropower Plant.
This morning, Dak Mi 3 Hydropower Plant staff discovered these four people. However, due to strong water flow, rescue was not possible.
"Immediately after that, the people called the local authorities. The authorities and the people immediately arrived, using ropes as pulleys to supply food to the victims. By 2 p.m. today, all four people were rescued safely to shore. Everyone's health is currently stable," said Mr. Ho Van Huy.
