The project “Connecting Warm Arms” was implemented to provide practical educational support to children in areas affected by storm No. 3.

On September 17, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Golden Faith Fund and Thanh Nien Newspaper held a signing ceremony for the "Connecting Warm Hands" project to support textbooks and learning tools for children in flood-affected areas, and mobilize volunteers to repair and overcome the effects of natural disasters at schools.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Vietnamese Youth, said that storm No. 3 caused human and property damage to the northern provinces. Overcoming the consequences of the storm will take a long time. Material damage can be overcome, but the mental pain will last long; among them, there are children who have lost their families and loved ones; and there are also those who are more fortunate but their learning conditions are not guaranteed due to the impact of the storm.

According to Mr. Lam, "Connecting Warm Hands" is a meaningful and timely program that will provide companionship, support, and sharing to help children continue to go to school and fulfill their dreams.

Representatives of the units signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the project.

The "Warm Hands" project will be implemented immediately after its announcement until schools are stable. As of September 17, the total cost of mobilization and contributions to the program is 3.7 billion VND (including cash and in-kind). Of which, PNJ contributed 3 billion VND, Ho Chi Minh City Association of Women Entrepreneurs (HAWEE) 300 million VND... The funds mobilized from the project will be used to purchase educational equipment and books, contributing to encouraging and creating conditions for children to return to school.

Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Golden Trust Fund, also Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of PNJ, said that since its inception, the Fund has always aimed at practical projects to improve living conditions and environment for women and children in difficult circumstances, with the aim of building a foundation for positive, long-term development for the community.

"In the context that many organizations have focused on supporting necessities, the Golden Faith Fund decided to join hands in the post-disaster reconstruction in terms of education, through supporting books, learning tools, and contributing to renovating classrooms to help children return to school and regain balance after many losses," Ms. Cao Thi Ngoc Dung shared.
