" I need to emphasize that Indonesian football is on par with Vietnam and Thailand ," said Mr. Aji Santoso - coach of Persebaya Surabaya club after witnessing U22 Indonesia win the 32nd SEA Games.

U22 Indonesia defeated two SEA Games gold medal candidates, U22 Vietnam and U22 Thailand. The team from the archipelago defeated U22 Vietnam despite having to play with one less player. Then they defeated U22 Thailand in a dramatic final match.

Mr. Aji Santoso believes that the 32nd SEA Games championship has brought Indonesian football to new heights.

Mr. Santoso highly appreciated the victory in the final match.

" The players played well in the final. Their fighting spirit was really strong. Their mentality was also very strong. In the end, they won, " said Mr. Santoso.

Mr. Santoso also said that this victory belongs to the team. The solidarity and reasonable tactics of the coaching staff brought success to U22 Indonesia.

" For me, the role in this championship does not belong to two or three players, but to the whole team. From the goalkeeper to the striker, they all contributed to the overall success. Of course, Indra Sjafri and his assistants have enhanced the team's strength, " he said.

Mr. Aji is a former Indonesian football star from the 1990s. He played 43 times for the national team. After retiring, he became a coach. In 2012, he took on the role of interim coach of the Indonesian national team when Wim Rijsbergen was fired. During this time, he also served as head coach of the Indonesian U23 team.
