On February 21 (January 12), the Management Board of Tam Chuc Pagoda National Tourist Area (Ba Sao town, Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province) held the opening ceremony of Tam Chuc Pagoda Spring Festival 2024.
Attending the opening ceremony were Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, abbot of Bai Dinh Pagoda (Ninh Binh) and Tam Chuc Pagoda (Ha Nam); Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Ha Nam Province Le Thi Thuy; representatives of leaders of relevant ministries, departments and branches, along with a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists, people and tourists from all over.

Under the chairmanship of Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, the opening ceremony of Tam Chuc Pagoda Festival in the year of Giap Thin 2024 took place with incense offering rituals praying for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, and bountiful crops to bring a peaceful life to our people and humanity.
According to Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, restoring the Tam Chuc Pagoda Festival on January 12 every year is the desire of the local people and Buddhists; at the same time, it contributes to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, introducing and promoting the image and cultural values of the homeland, creating conditions for people and Buddhists at home and abroad to visit the Tam Chuc Pagoda Spiritual Tourism Area.
2024 is the 6th year Tam Chuc Pagoda organizes the Spring Festival. This year, visitors will be able to attend many special events, including an art performance night and fireworks display to celebrate the Party and Spring at the International Convention Center - Tam Chuc Tourist Area on the night of February 20 (the night of the 11th day of the lunar calendar) and experience many folk games, art performances, antique stalls, traditional craft villages, etc.

Chairman of Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee Truong Quoc Huy said that the opening ceremony of Tam Chuc Spring Festival 2024 with many rich and diverse activities aims to continue and promote the fine cultural traditions of our ancestors, widely propagate and promote the image of the land and people of Ha Nam to a large number of people, domestic and international tourists, contributing to preserving and promoting the values of Ha Nam's cultural heritage associated with sustainable tourism development.
With the motto of exploiting potentials and developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector, in recent years, the tourism development policy has been specified in documents of the Provincial Party Congress, specialized resolutions, planning, plans, and projects of Party committees and authorities at all levels.

At the opening ceremony of Tam Chuc Pagoda Festival in the year of Giap Thin 2024, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented the World Travel Awards trophy, honoring Ha Nam province for the first time as one of the world's leading local cultural destinations in 2023.
Tam Chuc Pagoda is a large tourist - cultural - spiritual complex connecting four provinces and cities: Ha Nam, Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Hoa Binh. Based on some relics found at the bottom of Tam Chuc Lake and folk stories still circulating locally, more than 1,000 years ago during the Dinh Dynasty, this was a Buddhist land, with the ancient and majestic Tam Chuc Pagoda and every year in early spring, local people held a festival to pray for national peace and prosperity, favorable weather, and bountiful crops. Tam Chuc Pagoda is also a gathering place for monks, nuns and Buddhists from all over. |
