This morning, June 26, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien inspected the progress of the My Thuy Port Project, site clearance for the Coastal Road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor Phase 1, site preparation and related conditions to start the Quang Tri Airport project.

Up to now, the My Thuy Port Area project has completed procedures such as: detailed construction planning, planning, land use plan, approval of project feasibility study report, approval of technical construction design, handover of sea area, granting construction permit for phase 1 of about 320 m of the western breakwater, completing procedures to remove the project from the national mineral reserve area, and converting forest use purposes.
The plan to dredge the water area and the turning basin has been agreed upon by the Ministry of Transport. The compensation and support plan for phase 1 has been approved and the people have agreed with the area of 125.49/133.67 hectares. The remaining area under land clearance is 8.18 hectares, expected to be completed before July 15, 2024.
For the Coastal Road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor from Dong Ha City to the central axis of the Southeast Economic Zone, the land acquisition work is currently being carried out by the localities. According to the plan, by July 2024, the section through Dong Ha City will hand over a length of 2.2/2.7km (the remaining 0.5km is the site of the Provincial Bus Station); the section through Trieu Phong district will hand over a length of 5.47/9.5km (the remaining 4.03km is within the scope of forest land and residential land, which will be handed over by the end of 2024 after completing the conversion of protective forest land, forest liquidation procedures and completing resettlement areas handed over to affected households).
Based on the actual inspection of the projects, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung requested that, for the My Thuy Port Area project, departments, units, and investors review the remaining problems and difficulties affecting the implementation progress to promptly handle them. Hai Lang District People's Committee directed Hai An Commune People's Committee to urgently complete the exploitation of planted forest wood and hand over the site to investors.
Regarding the land acquisition and clearance work for the Coastal Road project connecting the East-West Economic Corridor, phase 1, Dong Ha City is requested to speed up the verification of land use origin, pricing, publicity, establishment and approval of support and compensation plans for affected households, handover of rice fields and affected households within the scope of Thach Han 1 bridge piers and piers. Trieu Phong District urgently completes procedures to prepare for investment in resettlement areas and completes the selection of contractors.
Regarding the site preparation and related conditions for the groundbreaking of the Quang Tri Airport project on July 6, 2024, the work has been basically completed. The ground for the groundbreaking ceremony is arranged on an area of about 22,500m2 , including the stage, the groundbreaking button area, the VIP area to welcome high-ranking delegates, the ceremony area, the reception house, the delegate parking lot and the parking lot for machinery and equipment serving the groundbreaking of the project have been paved with aggregate.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung praised Gio Linh district, especially the authorities and people of the communes in the project area for their support and consensus to do a good job of site clearance. To ensure conditions for the organization of the project groundbreaking ceremony, Gio Linh district and related units are requested to review infrastructure such as roads leading to the ceremony area, electricity and water systems, bomb and mine clearance work, etc. At the same time, Gio Linh district and related units are requested to continue their efforts to complete the handover of the entire area of 265 hectares in 2024.
