On the afternoon of January 6, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung received and worked with Ms. Jareeporn Jarukornsakul - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of WHA Group (Thailand) during her visit and work in Nghe An.

Since 2017, WHA has invested more than 310 million USD in Vietnam. WHA Group's leaders expressed their hope that in 2025, Vietnam in general and Nghe An province in particular will continue to achieve many successes in attracting FDI. In particular, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of WHA Group expressed his gratitude to the provincial leaders, departments and branches for supporting the Group to receive the Decision approving the investment policy of the WHA Industrial Zone 2 - Nghe An project (WHA Zone 2). The Group's leaders believe that they will continue to expand and develop further in Nghe An.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized that the results in socio-economic development as well as FDI attraction in recent years of the province have important contributions from WHA. In the past 3 years, Nghe An has become a province with large FDI attraction capital, ranked in the top 10 of the country. This result has a very important contribution from WHA Group.

The total FDI capital that WHA attracted was 1.26 billion USD out of a total of 5.6 billion USD of industrial parks in the province. In particular, the fields that WHA attracted were fields that were very suitable for the development requirements of the province such as electronics, optics, etc. WHA was very determined in implementing projects on industrial park infrastructure. In which, WHA Zone 1 Industrial Park has completed 2 phases out of a total of nearly 500 hectares. The Government's approval of the investment policy of WHA Zone 2 with a total area of over 183 hectares is very meaningful, closing 2024 with the province's FDI attraction results reaching nearly 1.75 billion USD - the highest ever. Nghe An continues to hold the 8th position out of 63 provinces and cities in attracting FDI investment.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung pledged that Nghe An will continue to support industrial park infrastructure investors to achieve industrial park development goals in the coming time; consistently pursue the policy of accompanying and supporting investors to create the most favorable conditions for industrial park development according to new requirements so that WHA can develop more industrial parks in the province. At the same time, all levels and sectors, especially the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, will create favorable conditions to support WHA in completing procedures to implement the WHA Zone 2 project. Provincial leaders are determined to maintain Nghe An's position in attracting FDI investment.
