NDO - On the morning of December 29, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day and a working visit to Thua Thien Hue, Politburo member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation offered incense to commemorate General Le Duc Anh and General Nguyen Chi Thanh; visited policy families in Hue city.
The delegation included members of the Party Central Committee: Chairman of the Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh; Chairman of the Culture and Education Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh; Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee Le Quang Manh; Chairman of the Law Committee Hoang Thanh Tung; Head of the Delegation Work Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Thua Thien Hue Province Le Truong Luu.
At the Memorial House of General Le Duc Anh's Cultural House and Library (Ban Mon village, Loc An commune, Phu Loc district), National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation respectfully offered incense and flowers to commemorate former President, General Le Duc Anh - a prestigious leader of our Party and State; a close and devoted comrade; a talented general, an outstanding son of his homeland Thua Thien Hue.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and members of the delegation also expressed their respect and deep gratitude for the great merits and important contributions of the late President, General Le Duc Anh to the Party, the revolution, the cause of national liberation, national construction and the Vietnam People's Army.
Visiting the General Le Duc Anh Library and writing in the guest book here, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man congratulated Thua Thien Hue province - the hometown of General Le Duc Anh - on becoming a centrally-run city, and the lives of Hue people are increasingly improved both materially and spiritually.
General Le Duc Anh was an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, a shining example of revolutionary morality, steadfastness, exemplary, always absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, the People, and excellently completing the tasks assigned by the Party, the Army and the People.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the Party Committee, government and people of Hue city will pay attention to and preserve the Memorial House of Culture and Library of General Le Duc Anh to make it more and more spacious, a place for people from all over the country to come and offer incense and pay tribute to the former President, General Le Duc Anh.
With 99 years of age and more than 80 years of Party membership, General Le Duc Anh has devoted his whole life to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and our people. He has been awarded many noble awards by the Party and the State: the Gold Star Order, the First Class Military Exploit Order, the First Class Feat of Arms Order, the 80-year Party membership badge and many other noble Vietnamese and international medals and honors.

Writing in the memorial book at the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized: "Throughout his life of revolutionary activities, comrade Nguyen Chi Thanh was always steadfast, steadfast, devoting all his heart, intelligence and talent to the revolutionary cause of the Party, making an important contribution to the cause of national liberation, building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland."
He wished that the Party Committee, Government and people of Hue city would continue to care for and promote the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum so that it would become a "red address" for educating revolutionary traditions and spreading love for the homeland to the young generation.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and the delegation also visited and presented gifts to the families of war invalids Ha Van Luong and Nguyen Viet Dao in Phu Nhuan ward (Hue city).
Mr. Ha Van Luong is a former lecturer at the University of Science, Hue University. During the period 1972-1974, he was an engineer soldier, Military Region 4. From 1974-1980, he was a student at the Hanoi University of Science. From 1980-2014, he was a staff member of the Faculty of Literature, University of Science, Hue University. He was awarded the Third Class Military Exploit Medal; Glorious Soldier Medal; Medal for the Cause of Fighting to Protect the Fatherland and other certificates of merit.

Disabled soldier Nguyen Viet Dao was a soldier of Nhat Le Company supporting Thua Thien Hue from 1969 to 1973. In 1973, he went to the North to study and worked at the University of Science, Hue University. He was awarded the Third Class Liberation Medal, the Third Class Resistance Medal against America for National Salvation; the Vietnam Education Medal and other certificates of merit.
Here, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man kindly asked about the health and life of the families of war invalids, expressing deep gratitude for their sacrifices and contributions to the cause of national liberation, protecting the Fatherland, and building the homeland.

The National Assembly Chairman also informed the policy families about the country's development and innovation process in recent times; at the same time, he emphasized that Hue city becoming a centrally-governed city is a great joy for the Party Committee, government and people of Thua Thien Hue. He hoped that the war invalids would continue to be a source of encouragement, a shining example of revolutionary spirit and will for generations; and continue to make contributions to the development of the country and Hue city.
