On the afternoon of June 13, the plane carrying National Assembly Chairman Adama Bictogo and the high-ranking delegation of the Ivory Coast National Assembly (Côte d'Ivoire) landed at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi), starting an official visit to Vietnam from June 13 to 16, 2023, at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
This is the first visit of the President of the Ivory Coast National Assembly to Vietnam and the first visit of a high-ranking leader of the Ivory Coast State to Vietnam after 48 years of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries. Welcoming the delegation at the airport were Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Le Anh Tuan; leaders of the Foreign Affairs Department, the Protocol Department and the International Cooperation Department of the National Assembly.

President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire Adama Bictogo was born on December 14, 1962, in Agboville, Ivory Coast. His educational background is Bachelor of Applied Economics from Créteil University Paris XII; Master of Arts, ICOGES Institute of Commerce and Management, Paris.
He was awarded the National Medal of Merit in 2014; Best Businessman and Politician in 2016.
From 1994 to 2003, he was Deputy Secretary General for Trade, National Secretary for Relations with Political Parties. From 2003 to 2014, he was Secretary General of the Republican Alliance (RDR). From 2011 to 2012, he was Minister for African Integration and Vice President of the Agnéby Regional Constituency; Founder and CEO of the National Association for the Publication of Identification Documents (SNEDAI - a group with more than 1,000 employees, with 14 subsidiaries in Côte d'Ivoire and the sub-regions of Mali, Burkina Faso and Guinea), specializing in biometrics (since 2007).
From 2014 to 2019, he was a Member of Parliament and Vice President of the Agboville Region. From 2019 to March 2021, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the ruling RHDP (Alliance of People for Democracy and Peace) Party in Ivory Coast.
From April 2021 to January 2022, he served as First Vice President of the National Assembly of Côte d'Ivoire. From February 2021 to May 2022, he served as Acting President of the National Assembly and Executive Secretary of the ruling RHDP Party (from February 2022).
From June 7, 2022 to present, he has held the position of President of the National Assembly of Ivory Coast, concurrently President of the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF) (from June 7, 2022 to July 9, 2022).
