At the same time, this group will also promote the development of new forms of economic and trade relations.

The Cuban leader criticized the US for “continually building walls” by imposing sanctions. This hegemonic policy is reflected in the fact that Washington and organizations such as the IMF and the World Bank have complete control over the world economy.

The Cuban President believes that BRICS is an alternative to integration, especially for the poorest countries.

In the current context, according to Mr. Díaz-Canel, BRICS brings hope for a fairer, more equal international economic order that benefits all parties.

The group defends multipolarity and multilateralism in relations, opposes Cold War concepts, promotes de-dollarization of economic and trade relations and further strengthens cooperation between countries, contributing to creating a balance against US economic power.

In addition, with this vision, BRICS advocates relationships that bring lasting peace and ensure international security.
