The road is crushed…

Talking to reporters, Mr. Nong Van H., who lives in Group 9, Bang Lung Town, said: My family has to use a tarpaulin to cover the gate and fence to avoid dust and rocks flying in. The house is near the quarry, so it often shakes and causes aftershocks due to the mine explosions. On sunny days, there is dust, on rainy days, the soil and rocks from the quarry flow onto the road, causing serious pollution. Every day, all the vehicles from Lung Mo quarry are heavy trucks. They transport rocks to sell to construction sites in the district.

The road through group 9 was destroyed.

Mr. Do Van Giang, Head of Group 9, Bang Lung Town, said: The road from the intersection to the mine was built by the people and Dong Son Enterprise. Up to now, the concrete road has been cracked, especially at the intersection, making it very difficult to travel. Every day, a lot of rocks fall onto the road, causing danger right at this intersection. The old road and the new roadbed do not match, so vehicles from the quarry run out and jump onto the new road, causing the vehicles to sway, and more rocks fall, which is very dangerous for vehicles participating in traffic.

However, when the reporter came at the "invitation", Ms. Vy said she was absent and did not provide any information.

Ask the district... The district doesn't know.

To broaden public opinion, the reporter contacted the People's Committee of Cho Don district to learn about local management. Mr. Trieu Huy Chung, Chairman of the People's Committee of the district, told the reporter to contact and work with Mr. Tran Duc Trung Thien, Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Cho Don district.

After that, the reporter went to Mr. Thien's office to find out some contents such as: How are the quarries in the district exploited, whether the ore processing factories cause any pollution and the concerns of the people. Especially the installation of Asphalt concrete station in Lung Mo quarry area of Dong Son Private Enterprise. Unfortunately, when asked about the issue, Mr. Thien's answer was that he did not know, did not understand the problem. Then Mr. Thien instructed the reporter to go to... the Department of Natural Resources and Environment if he wanted to find the answer!

An Asphalt concrete station is being built at the Dong Son Enterprise's mine. But when the reporter of the Natural Resources and Environment newspaper mentioned it, the Head of the Natural Resources and Environment Department, Mr. Tran Duc Trung Thien, did not know.

The reporter continued to ask: Did the Department check the installation of the Asphalt concrete station of Dong Son Private Enterprise? Was there a construction permit? At this time, Mr. Thien was "surprised" and frankly said: Now I hear the reporter say that I just found out.

Unable to find an answer from Cho Don district, the reporter continued to contact Mr. Ngoc Manh Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bang Lung town to learn about the inspection and supervision of operating quarries, as well as environmental protection work in the area. Mr. Hung said: After receiving information from the people about the construction of the Asphanlt concrete station here, the leaders of the People's Committee of Bang Lung town sent cadastral and judicial officers to conduct an initial inspection and determined that the station was built without a license. After that, the inspectors made a record, suspended the construction and are reporting the incident to the District People's Committee.

Mr. Hung admitted: the Lung Mo quarry has caused soil and rocks to flow onto the road as well as onto vehicles running out, which is true. We will have an opinion on this to ensure the safety of people living around the area.

It is thought that the People's Committee of Cho Don district and relevant agencies need to step in to clarify the responsibility for the signs of covering up and avoiding the incident by some units and officials in Cho Don district related to the above incident.

Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper will continue to report on shortcomings in mineral resource management in the area.
