Since November 2021, Vietnam has piloted welcoming international tourists and officially fully reopened tourism from March 15, 2022, which is an important turning point to promote strong tourism recovery and vibrant return to both domestic and international tourism.
These are evidences of the development of Vietnam tourism, reinforcing the belief in recovery and strong development in the coming period. Tourism has increasingly affirmed its important position in socio-economic development, contributing to job creation, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, ensuring social security, preserving and promoting cultural values, protecting the environment, maintaining national defense and security and affirming the image, position and prestige of Vietnam.
However, the tourism industry still has many shortcomings and limitations that need to be overcome related to products, services, infrastructure, visa policies, environmental sanitation, promotion, etc. in order to develop tourism commensurate with its available potential.
With the motto of "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized and friendly destinations" and the goal of developing tourism to truly become a spearhead economic sector, among the top 30 countries with the world's leading tourism competitiveness, the Resolution sets out the main tasks and solutions such as: Promoting the restructuring of the tourism industry towards professionalism, modernity, quality and sustainability; Continuing to facilitate the attraction of international tourists to Vietnam; Increasing investment attraction for tourism development with a focus on key areas, focusing on national tourist areas; Developing products and communicating, promoting and advertising tourism; Supporting tourism businesses; Improving the quality of training and fostering human resources; Accelerating digital transformation, promoting startups and innovation in the tourism sector.
In particular, the Resolution also clearly states the development of tourism on agricultural land, specifically: The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to determine types of agricultural land and land areas planned for agricultural purposes combined with tourism activities...
