NBC News on October 12 quoted a well-informed source revealing that Ms. Susie Wiles, co-director of Donald Trump's election campaign, called White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients to request that the Washington government increase the level of protection from the military, such as providing armored vehicles and applying airspace restrictions when Mr. Trump flies.

When he got the call, Zients immediately connected Wiles with the heads of the Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service. Zients also made it clear that President Joe Biden had directed the Secret Service to provide the highest level of protection possible for the Republican nominee, according to the source.
According to two US officials, Mr. Trump’s campaign also requested the deployment of special forces for security work. However, a source familiar with the information denied this information, saying that it was the Secret Service, not Mr. Trump’s campaign, that requested the additional task force to respond to the threat of drone attacks.

After former President Trump faced two assassination attempts since July, the Republican candidate's campaign adopted additional tactics and measures to keep his movements secret.
In addition, Congressman Mike Waltz, representing Florida, proposed that the Washington government allow the former president's campaign to use aircraft to detect and respond to threats, such as Boeing's Boeing C-17 or C-32.
Those demands have yet to be met, NBC News sources told The Associated Press.
However, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi denied the accusation, affirming that Mr. Trump currently receives the highest level of security protection.
