On January 15, Binh Chanh District Police (HCMC) are investigating the fire at Mizuki Park Nam Long apartment building.
The apartment security guard went up to guide the residents to escape, then fainted and was taken to the emergency room by medical staff.
At 7 p.m., a fire broke out on the third floor of block MP3 of the Mizuki Park Nam Long apartment building on Nguyen Van Linh Street in Binh Hung Commune. At that time, the fire alarm rang, causing hundreds of residents to run downstairs through the stairs. Smoke then spread to many apartments.
Fire police of Binh Chanh district police along with fire trucks, ladder trucks, and ambulances were mobilized to the scene.
Police and firefighters at the apartment building put out the fire and prevented it from spreading.
According to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, police arrived at the scene, deployed modern equipment and smoke extraction machines, and directly guided 87 people to escape.
Initial investigation determined that the apartment security guard had guided residents to escape, then fainted and was taken to the emergency room by medical staff.
The initial cause was determined to be an electrical short circuit that caused a fire in the electrical cabinet on the 3rd floor of block MP3.
