Fire at Long Thanh 500kV transformer station, smoke column hundreds of meters high

(NLDO) - A fire suddenly broke out in phase B area, transformer AT1 in Long Thanh 500kV transformer station.

On February 16, Long Thanh District Police (Dong Nai) are investigating the cause of the fire at the 500kV Long Thanh Transformer Station in Loc An Commune, Long Thanh District. This is a transformer station belonging to Power Transmission Company 4, National Power Transmission Corporation.

At noon of the same day, a fire suddenly broke out in phase B area, transformer AT1 in the 500kV Long Thanh transformer station managed by Eastern Power Transmission 1 - Power Transmission Company 4.

Discovering the incident, staff at the transformer station used on-site fire fighting equipment to control the fire and reported it to the authorities.

Long Thanh District Police and the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Dong Nai Provincial Police mobilized 3 fire trucks and more than 20 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.

Firefighting forces

Professional firefighters sprayed water to cool the fire, used specialized foam to control and extinguish the fire afterwards.

The fire did not cause any human casualties and did not affect the power supply.
