The Netherlands is the current world runner-up. In Group E, besides Vietnam and Portugal, there is also the US national team, the current champion. Martens is cautious when talking about this opponent.

" The last time we met them was at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. We could have beaten them. I missed a penalty in regulation time and then lost on penalties. It was really frustrating. Since then, they have played better, and so have we. The next match between the two teams promises to be very exciting ," the 1992-born star assessed.

Lieke Martens is the number 1 star of Dutch women's football with 144 appearances, scoring 58 goals. She won the FIFA The Best title in 2017, playing for Barcelona. She has won a series of big and small titles with the Spanish team such as 3 national championships, 1 Champions League championship, 4 Spanish national cups and 2 Super Cup championships.

At the national team level, she and the Netherlands won Euro 2017. The World Cup is the missing title in Lieke Martens' collection.

" If I win the championship, I will fulfill my dream. It is a difficult challenge but nothing is impossible. I will try to prepare the best and believe in my team, " Martens said.
