Free health care for 500 poor people in the cold winter

On the morning of December 15, Thu Phuc General Hospital (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province) coordinated with the Farmers' Association of Phu Yen Province, the Center for Supporting Farmers and Rural Areas in the Central and Central Highlands Regions (Central Vietnam Farmers' Association), the representative office of Tuoi Tre Newspaper in the South Central and Central Highlands Regions, and the People's Committee of Dong Hoa Town to organize medical examinations and provide free medicine for 500 poor people and farmers in difficult circumstances in Dong Hoa Town.

Mr. Phan Xuan Hanh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Phu Yen province - on behalf of the program's organizing committee, shared that understanding that a part of the people and farmers in Dong Hoa town still have difficulties, especially in the cold winter when they may encounter some health disadvantages, Thu Phuc General Hospital coordinated with other units to organize a health care program and provide free medicine to the people.

The program is authorized by the Phu Yen Provincial Department of Health and supervised by relevant authorities.

During the program, 500 people and farmers in Dong Hoa town received general health check-ups such as blood pressure measurement, cardiovascular examination, abdominal ultrasound, electrocardiogram... and were given free medicine.

Ms. Luong Thi Hong (56 years old, resident of Hoa Thanh commune, Dong Hoa town) emotionally said: “I work as a farmer in the fields in the morning and afternoon, my income is still difficult so I rarely go for a health check-up. When I received this invitation to go for a health check-up, I was very happy. The female doctors examined and consulted about my health condition, and also gave me free medicine and supplements, I am very grateful.”

After being examined by doctors, Mr. Nguyen Trung Chanh (62 years old, resident of Hoa Thanh commune) said that he had vestibular disorder, high blood pressure and his family was near-poor. He came here early to be examined by doctors.

“I thank the free medical examination team very much. The doctors not only examined me enthusiastically but also gave me advice on nutrition and additional medications,” Mr. Chanh expressed.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Nguyen Vo Thi Huyen Tran - professional director of Thu Phuc General Hospital - said that with the desire to bring people the best medical examination and treatment services, along with providing effective medical methods and techniques, this free medical examination and medicine program not only helps improve the health of local people but is also an activity to connect and share with the community.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hong - Vice Chairman of Dong Hoa Town People's Committee - expressed gratitude to the organizers for bringing the program to the poor people of the town.

"The program has come to the people of Dong Hoa town at the right time, during the cold winter when many diseases arise, contributing to improving community health" - Mr. Hong said.
