On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Deputy Prime Minister sent his regards, encouragement and wishes to the people to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year with warmth, abundance and prosperity; and a new year of peace and prosperity.

Talking to the people, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the difficult year of 2024 has just passed, with the efforts of the entire Party, people and army, we have achieved many important achievements. As a province in the group of 3 localities with the largest GRDP in the country, Binh Duong has made an extremely important contribution to the country's overall achievements with a fairly high growth rate (7.48%) and a record trade surplus of 10 billion USD.

With the spirit of "leaving no one behind", the Party and State have devoted large resources to implementing social security policies; repaying gratitude, taking care of the lives of 1.13 million people with meritorious services, relatives of people with meritorious services to the revolution; the poor, ethnic minorities in difficult circumstances, workers; supporting families affected by natural disasters, epidemics, etc.

The poverty rate in 2024 will decrease to 1.93%; health care and spiritual and cultural life will continue to improve; thereby contributing to raising the happiness index in 2024 by 11 places, ranking 54/143. Vietnam is considered by the international community as a bright spot in the world in the fight against poverty.

The Deputy Prime Minister was pleased to know that along with the achievements in economic development, the lives of the people of Binh Duong province continue to improve. Binh Duong is the first province in the country to have no poor households according to the general standard; the average income per capita of nearly 181.2 million VND is among the highest in the country.

The Party Committee and authorities at all levels of Binh Duong province pay attention to social security policies; pay attention to the work of "Repaying gratitude" to 64,000 people who have contributed to the revolution.

In 2024, Binh Duong province completed the goal of building 8,000 social housing units for workers and is focusing on building about 20,000 more social housing units for low-income workers in 2025.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Provincial Labor Federation have successfully implemented campaigns to support housing for low-income people and "Union Shelter"; spent nearly 272 billion VND to take care of union members and workers with activities such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Spring Bus - Spring Train of Love", "Union Tet Market" to serve workers. Ensuring that every family has a reunion, full, joyful and excited Tet according to the tradition of the nation.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that in 2025 and the coming period, the Party and State will continue to innovate and create institutions and organize a "Refined - Lean - Strong - Effective - Efficient - Effective" apparatus, using state resources and mobilizing social resources for the development of economic, cultural and social infrastructure, creating a favorable environment for all economic sectors and each person to have the opportunity to enrich themselves.

Along with the determination to achieve high growth target (8%), create more jobs, income and have more resources to implement social security, the Government, the Prime Minister and authorities at all levels continue to innovate and improve the quality of social policies with tasks and solutions to ensure resources to implement policies for people with meritorious services, ethnic minorities, people in difficult circumstances in remote areas, policies on employment, social insurance, unemployment insurance, social assistance, poverty reduction and policies to improve social welfare (on health, education, housing, culture, clean water, environmental sanitation, information) in a practical way. For example, in health care, it is necessary to combine monitoring, periodic health check-ups, increase investment in grassroots health care, "prevention is better than cure".

The Government has submitted to the National Assembly and issued, within its authority, policies on housing, land, and social insurance with many new regulations to ensure housing conditions and basic social security for policy beneficiaries, ethnic minorities, workers, and comrades in the armed forces. The age of receiving monthly allowances for the elderly without pensions has been reduced to 75 years old (the old regulation was 80 years old); for those in poor and near-poor households, those from 70 to under 75 years old are entitled to social pensions.

The Prime Minister has issued a policy to support housing for people with revolutionary contributions; launched the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" to be completed by 2025 nationwide. The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that Binh Duong needs to increase the level of support to build new houses and high-quality social housing to meet the real needs of the people and citizens.

The Government will focus on synchronously implementing sustainable poverty reduction solutions in a multi-dimensional, inclusive, and multi-level manner. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Binh Duong needs solutions to narrow the gap in living standards and income between target groups, leaving no one behind.

"As the province with the second largest workforce in the country with more than 840,000 workers, most of whom come from other provinces (about 80%), Binh Duong, together with businesses and investors, joins hands to take care of workers in terms of income, employment, daily life...", the Deputy Prime Minister said and suggested that the province continue to have specific policies to develop social housing with full infrastructure, cultural and social institutions, education, health care... ensuring security and order, fighting against social evils so that workers and laborers can have a safe, healthy, joyful and happy life.

The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, organizations, unions, and the business community to continue to fulfill their social responsibilities, care for the material and spiritual life and living conditions of workers. Especially during the Lunar New Year of At Ty, organize practical and comprehensive activities to every house and every circumstance so that everyone can share the joy of welcoming a "warm and cozy" New Year, bringing spring love to everyone, every home.
